Here's that dumpster aquarium with substrate and rocks added. We used laterite under the top substrate to give the plants lots of iron. Check back to see the filling!

The start of another project series. This custom aquarium was set in a modified dumpster for a waste management and recycling company in Pittsburgh. Checkout that massive driftwood we sourced for the client!

A few more shots of this 150 before we start onto our next big exciting project. The Val in this aquarium is super- happy. And the Ludwigia is growing well and maintaining its red color. We'll check back on this one in a couple months with an update. Keep an eye out for our next aquarium install project series! It will definitely be an attention-getter.

Shortly after first plants were added. The water got a little turbid with some of the Laterite being disturbed during planting. But it clears quickly.

Clownfish don't always need an anemone to host in. This Clark's clownfish in a client's reef has adopted this whiskers coral (Duncanopsammia).

Red fire urchins (Astropyga radiata) are beautiful but can inflict a painful venomous sting. They are related to Longspine urchins (Diadema sp.) and can be useful algae control in reef aquariums with care.

Black fancy tiger shrimp make a great display. And we have a local breeder to supply any clients who would like to do a planted shrimp display. What is your dream aquarium inhabitant?

One mollusk cleaning another. Olive nerite snails can be useful for algae control in some freshwater aquariums.
