First, think of Gen Z couples searching for vendors like finding a restaurant in a new city. On Apple Maps, searching “restaurants near me” is like them searching vendors on Instagram. The first thing they notice is your aesthetic—just like scanning restaurant photos to see if it feels right. If they like what they see, they’ll want more details—your website is like the menu. They’re looking for what you offer, a sense of the price range, and if it matches their style—whether that’s a casual vendor or Michelin-star luxury. They’ll check reviews and public tags—like checking restaurant ratings. If it all aligns, inquiring is their version of booking a table. Just like calling the restaurant to confirm a spot, they’ll reach out to ensure availability. If the whole experience—from aesthetic to price to vibe—feels seamless, that’s when they decide to book. And if they have a planner, that’s like hiring a local guide—they’ll help navigate the whole process.

One of my biggest tips for better cocktail hour footage is to direct moments.

Sometimes it is difficult for these moments to unfold naturally or you’re unable to capture them. Don’t be afraid to manufacture moments. It’s better to have these directed shots in their film than to not have these moments at all.
