Please Edit Your Work!!!

I don't know about you, but ever since I was a little girl, I could look at something like the local newspaper... and notice the grammatical mistakes. It was as if the WORDS would ATTACK my EYES! And after a while, I would get the newspaper, read through it, and take my RED pen to it! As an exercise for yourself, get a newspaper (I know, I know... They're very hard to find nowadays.), or a magazine and see if YOU can spot the mistakes! It's a good exercise to keep your brain and skills sharp. And it helps you work on your editing skills, too!
Funny thing is, when I made it to college, that was one of the exercises that the teachers would have us do!
So, the tip for today is... edit...Edit... EDIT!!! PLEASE! You don't want to have your work published, and it is not at it's best!
And PLEASE... have someone else read your work, after you've read it. You can't see what someone else does. Do it to make sure that you are representing yourself and your skills properly.
As you begin to work on your writings, you must realize that 'writing' is an Art! It takes a lot of time, dedication and commitment to become a writer.
Before you become a 'published' writer, I suggest getting a little bit of experience in the field. Not saying that you HAVE to do that to get noticed. But, it does help. People seem to take you a little more seriously if you have some experience behind you.
As you embark on your writing journey, there is a lot to learn; proper grammar, proper diction, proper phrasing, and MOST importantly, proper spelling. AND Something that's SOOO important... edit, Edit...EDIT!!!
We know it sounds overwhelming. But, once you get the hang of it, you'll be a "pro"!!
