John Krysinsky has 20 years experience as a event marketing, public relations, non-profit and sport management professional. His diverse background ranges from the implementation of large-scale special events to the ex*****on of public relations and marketing initiatives to sport and athletic management. His past and present clients and employers include DePaul School for Hearing and Speech, 141 Worldwide Sports and Entertainment, Three Rivers Rowing Association, Special Olympics Pennsylvania, Point Park University, PGA TOUR, ESPN's Bassmaster Classic, United Cerebral Palsy of Southwestern PA, Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western PA and the YMCA of Pittsburgh. Krysinsky’s career began as a marketing intern for KBL Sports Network (Pittsburgh) and as the media relations manager for a professional race car driver, Michael Guido. Through these two early career experiences he developed strong understanding of media relations in writing press releases, securing print and broadcast interviews, creating marketing tools and developing scripts for various media spots, commercials and public service announcements. His affinity for creative writing garnered a position in writing free lance articles for various publications and for developing human interest articles that have promoted the people and stories for the organizations where he has worked. John developed subsequent experiences working for health, human service and educational agencies as a development and non-profit management professional. Krysinsky enhanced his special event management credentials in his next venture as Western Competition Director for Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA). In this position, Krysinsky developed strong protocols for managing events and led numerous student and community volunteer management teams in the ex*****on of single day, sectional level multi-sports events held on college campuses in Western Pennsylvania. Krysinsky seized the opportunity to work for 141 Worldwide Sports and Entertainment, a Pittsburgh-based sports marketing agency, to assist with the overall marketing and strategic planning for two major sporting events held in Western Pennsylvania in 2004 and 2005, the PGA Tour's 84 Lumber Classic and ESPN's Bassmaster Classic. He returned to the non-profit arena in a newly created position of special events manager for DePaul School for Hearing and Speech. Krysinsky, who has moderate to severe hearing loss and wears a hearing aid, has been devoted to elevate DePaul's public profile and enhance the overall management of its largest fund raising event while creating new special events and marketing tools for DePaul. During DePaul's Centennial Year and subsequent years that followed, Krysinsky helped lead a busy slate of events and public awareness campaigns. This included the production of new videos, commercials and public service announcement to showcase DePaul. In addition, Krysinsky implemented a formal alumni relations program for the first time. Krysinsky is an accomplished writer and a trained journalist with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Point Park University. Krysinsky has been published in numerous magazines, publications and newspapers. He served as a sports editor of Point Park's student newspaper, The Globe, and student magazine, The Pioneer. He served as play-by-play announcer and color commentator for Point Park men's basketball games on WPPJ-AM. He has worked as a stringer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in their sports department. He was the William A. Thomas Award recipient as outstanding graduate at Point Park in the concentration of public relations. Krysinsky has served in numerous community leadership capacities over the years. He was a member of Point Park University’s Alumni Association Board of Directors for for nine years (three terms) and served on the Board of Directors for Christ the Divine Teacher Catholic Academy's Athletic Association, where he was the President for three years. He has served as a volunteer for the YMCA of Pittsburgh's Youth Mentor program, served as an instructor for various youth programs for the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club (Estelle Campbell - Lawrenceville).
