Eva Cassidy
Born February 2, 1963
Died November 2, 1996, at the age of 33
Was an amazing artist who made the stage her home. Mick Fleetwood, who owned a bar down the street from where Eva normally played made attempts to get her into the mainstream music community. He got her into discussions with record labels. The labels being what they were, wanted her to put her music in one box. She told them that she could only play what moved her. If you look at the playlist that she left behind, you'll realize that she focused on beauty and not genre. Those that love music for music's sake understand that concept. Needless to say, no record label ever managed to sign her. Several years after her death, two of her songs appeared on BBC Radio. That event brought about three number one albums and one number one hit that sold 10 million copies.

Simply Amazing!!! The late Eva Cassidy.

Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bed sitter people look back and lament
Another days useless energy spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is gray and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

Late Lament:
Powerful words appearing at the end of Nights In White Satin written by the late Graeme Edge of The Moody Blues.

At the risk of sounding like a "broken record" (pun intended), I believe that after several long days, I have the station not back to it's usual output, but actually much better. I saw that songs were missing and songs that hadn't been there needed to be added. I've been following it for almost a week and it seems to me to be more on point than before. Time will tell. I hope that you enjoy the music as much as I do. For those of us that grew up during those decades of true talent, this music played such a huge part in our lives. Remember that as these incredible artists leave us that there will never be a library of truly impactful music like it ever again.

Some of you have probably noticed some anomalies with the station over the last 3 weeks. You aren't imagining it. It began with a failing drive. That would have been fine if that's all that happened. Replacing the drive impacted the music data. As a result, the daily musical selections turned the station into something that you would tune into on the car radio. Where you hear almost the same songs every day. That was unacceptable. It took several weeks to find the root cause. At this point I believe that I've repaired all issues. So, Happy Listening!!!!
