Well… it finally happened to us.
Five seasons in, and every cheer mom’s worst nightmare hit: the stomach bug, right between Day 1 and Day 2.
At 3am, my girl woke up throwing up. No sleep, just exhaustion and one question on repeat: “But cheer… how can I cheer?”

One of the hardest parts of this sport is that there are no substitutes. No one can step in when you’re not feeling your best. And at just 8 years old, that’s a really tough lesson to learn.

We talked about focusing on what she could do.. Showing up for her team and giving it her all for those 2 minutes and 30 seconds on the floor (plus warm-ups)

And she did just that! Her team went out and crushed it again on Day 2.

This weekend reminded me that elite cheer isn’t really about placements, bids, or medals (even though those are nice). It’s about resilience, determination, and passion. I am so proud of my girl 🩷💎
