It is really impressive to see all the growth on this part of RT7 (Pittsfield/Lenox Rd) new Hotels, Carwash, Starbucks, new Auto Dealerships, the shopping center where Carr Hardware and Marshall's is located is booming, Mazzeo's will be opening a new deli at the former Mazcot's location. Not to mention Guido's and Pittsfield Rye Bakery area is always busy. I still have not gotten use to Luau Hale being gone, it's so strange seeing that as an empty lot.

As I was leaving Pittsfield City Hall yesterday, after my interview with Mayor Marchetti. I noticed my Aunt Margaret's portrait was hanging back at City Hall. I know it was moved to another location for a few years, so it was really cool to see it hanging back outside the council chambers. At the time of my Aunt's passing she was the oldest living female WW2 Army Officer in the country. For her 100th birthday, which was a big celebration with a general and other high ranking officers in attendance, state reps, the mayor, and of course a lot of fellow veterans, they unveiled this portrait and hung it in City Hall. Her story really is quite amazing, If I have the time, I might put together a short documentary about her life.
