❄️ Snow Emergency Reminder – Plain City ❄️
This weekend’s snowstorm has impacted village roadways, and a Snow Emergency is in effect when snowfall reaches 2 inches or more.

🚫 No parking is permitted on Snow Emergency Routes until plowing is complete and the emergency is lifted. Vehicles parked in violation may be ticketed ($25 max) and towed at the owner’s expense.

Snow Emergency Routes include:
N. & S. Chillicothe St., E. & W. Main St., Lantern Ln., North Ave. (Noteman–Main), West Ave., Noteman Rd., and Jefferson Ave.
➡️ Parking is prohibited on both sides of these routes.

🚜 Our Public Works crews are hard at work clearing streets—please give them time, space, and patience while they plow.

🐢 Take it slow, watch for crews and changing conditions, and stay safe out there, Plain City!

🚨 SNOW JOKE — SLOW DOWN, PLAIN CITY ❄️

As you know by now, a significant snowstorm is expected this weekend. The Plain City Police Department reminds all drivers to take it slow, plan ahead, and understand snow emergency levels to help keep our roads safe.

✅ DO:
• Slow down and increase your following distance—roads may be slick and visibility reduced.
• Turn headlights on so you can see and be seen.
• Keep your gas tank at least half full in case of delays or emergencies.
• Fully clear snow and ice from your windshield, roof, lights, and mirrors before driving.
• Carry a winter emergency kit (blanket, flashlight, phone charger, shovel, snacks).
• Check road conditions and snow emergency levels before heading out.

❌ DON’T:
• Don’t use cruise control on snowy or icy roads.
• Don’t tailgate or make sudden stops or sharp turns.
• Don’t pass snowplows or emergency vehicles unless absolutely necessary.
• Don’t assume four-wheel drive means four-wheel stop.
• Don’t drive distracted—winter conditions require full attention.

🚦 SNOW EMERGENCY LEVELS:
• Level 1: Roads are hazardous. Drive with caution.
• Level 2: Roads are very hazardous. Only travel if necessary.
• Level 3: All roads are closed to non-emergency travel. Only emergency vehicles should be on the roads.

Your cooperation helps keep you, other drivers, and first responders safe. Please travel only when necessary and use extra caution throughout the storm.

Level 2 Snow Alert 1/25/2026 5:20 A.M.

Per Sheriff John Swaney, Madison County is now under a Level 2 Snow Alert. All roads in Madison County are declared hazardous with icy spots, blowing and drifting snow and low visibility. Only those who deem it necessary to travel should be on the roadways. All employees are encouraged to contact their place of employment to see if they should report for work. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office urges extreme caution be used while traveling.
