Divorced Not Defective

Divorced Not Defective Healing is personal, but you don’t have to do it alone. DM me the word ‘HEAL’ and I’ll share how I can walk with you with 1:1 coaching.

Divorced, Not Defective was birthed our of one of the most painful experiences in my life. I went through a divorce after 27 years of marriage and nothing could have prepared me for the many challenges I would face as I learned to embrace a new reality. Despite having a career as a professional counselor for more than 2 decades, the reality of my situation felt overwhelming, but I survived. This p

age is designed to empower women to reclaim their value and rebuild their lives after divorce. For those that need additional support, I offer a group coaching program to walk through the journey with you. Each session provides practical tools, emotional support, and actionable steps to help participants heal, grow, and thrive in their new chapter of life. Marriage is sacred—but not meant to destroy you. 💔
When protecting the institution becomes more important than protecting the individuals, it’s no longer God’s design.
Your safety, sanity, and soul matter to Him. 🙏🏽
📖 God didn’t create marriage so one person could destroy another.

💜 Purple Thursday: A Reminder of Strength and Awareness 💜

Today is Purple Thursday, a national day to raise awareness about domestic violence and to honor the courage of survivors.

As a therapist and as someone who has walked through difficult seasons myself I’ve learned that healing begins with awareness. Awareness of what is unhealthy. Awareness of what is unsafe. And awareness that you deserve peace.

Leaving or recovering from an unsafe or unhealthy relationship isn’t weakness—it’s strength. It’s choosing life, freedom, and healing.

If you’re in a season of recovery, remember:
🌿 You are not defined by what broke you.
🌿 You are worthy of love that does not hurt.
🌿 You are stronger than you think.

Let’s continue to educate, support, and create safe spaces for healing. 💜

Healing happens in your habits.
“You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily.” — John C. Maxwell

After divorce, it’s easy to focus on what was lost. But healing isn’t found in replaying the past — it’s built in the quiet choices you make each day. The morning you pray instead of worry. The evening you journal instead of scroll. The boundary you honor. The walk you take. The grace you extend — to yourself.

It’s the small, consistent steps that help you get better, not bitter. 💛

From Brokenness to Strength ✨ One Day at a Time

Three years ago, I saw an image that felt like my 27-year marriage—heavy, draining, and breaking me down. Choosing divorce was terrifying, but staying was no longer an option.

Healing hasn’t been easy. There are still hard days. But one day at a time, I found strength. 💪🏾

This is your reminder: leaving what breaks you isn’t failure—it’s choosing life, peace, and hope. 🌿

Broken glass will cut you if you’re careless — but with intention it can be arranged into a beautiful mosaic.

Hurting someone back won’t mend your pain. Retaliation only multiplies the wounds. Healing begins when we choose how to respond instead of letting the moment control us.

If you want different outcomes, practice different responses:
• Pause — take a breath before you answer.
• Notice — name the feeling (anger, fear, shame).
• Choose — respond with a boundary, a calm word, or silence for reflection.
• Learn — use the quiet to study your triggers and what you need.

Sitting in silence isn’t avoidance — it’s courage. It’s how you protect your heart and reclaim your power. When we consciously shape our response, the shards become material for something beautiful.

In life—and especially in divorce—we often waste energy trying to control what we cannot. The Let Them theory reminds us that, just like rushing water, people will flow the way they choose. You can’t dam up the river or redirect its current—but you can choose where you stand.

Healing comes when we stop resisting, release the illusion of control, and allow space for peace to flow in. 💙

Reflection Post 🌅

September 11th is always a day that reminds us of the fragility of life and the resilience of the human spirit. For many, it stirs memories of loss, pain, and uncertainty. Yet even in the face of tragedy, we’ve seen the power of unity, hope, and perseverance.

The truth is—life will always bring challenges and setbacks. Healing, whether from loss, divorce, or personal trials, doesn’t mean ignoring the pain. It means choosing to carry it with grace, learning from it, and moving forward with strength.

Today, let’s pause to honor the past while also reminding ourselves: setbacks are not the end. They can be the soil where courage, healing, and new beginnings take root.

✨ Keep moving forward. Your story is still being written.

🌿 Take a hike.
Not just for the view but for your healing.

When you walk among trees, breathe fresh air, and feel your body in motion, you’re not just exercising—you’re reconnecting with yourself and with God’s creation.

Healing doesn’t only happen in a therapy room. Sometimes it happens on a trail, one step at a time. 🚶🏾‍♀️✨
