This is a picture of an EMI BTR-2 tape machine used at Abby Road studios during the early 60s and was used for mixing many Beatle records. It was a monster. It was a simple mono (1 single track) recorder which used 1/4 inch tape. It was about the size of a washing machine and weighed in at about 600 pounds!
