Our 20th Episode is now available!!
This week, Erin previews this weekend's Heritage Days celebration in Pocahontas, highlights a new book by a local author showcasing the life-sized kaleidoscopes of Pocahontas County, and covers county residents voicing concerns over proposed solar panel developments on agricultural land. She also recaps the latest performances from Pocahontas Area and Newell-Fonda athletes in trap shooting, baseball, and softball.
For the Echoes segment, Erin and Sandy turn the pages of the Laurens Sun from 1940, where two remarkable stories appeared side by side on the front page. One tells the heartbreaking story of a young mother whose life was tragically cut short by illness, while the other celebrates a grandmother reaching her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends. The contrast offers a powerful reminder of how newspapers have long captured both the joys and sorrows of small-town life.
