Momma's Boys....
When they were little they needed me for everything. I felt like I could never get anything done without stopping to do 20 different tasks from the tiny humans that followed me everywhere.
They needed me to tie their shoes.
They needed me to open fruit snacks
They needed me to tuck them in at night.
They needed me to kiss boo-boos, and wipe away tears.
They needed me.
Now they are practically grown. I'm staring at my man-child(ren) wondering where the time went. I have moments where I feel so not needed anymore.
They don't need me for everyday tasks.
They don't need me to get them a drink.
They don't need me to read them a story.
They don't need me to help them learn new vocabulary words.
They don't need me.
The truth is, they do need me, but it looks different now. As they've grown, and changed, so have their needs. Now I'm teaching them to drive, taking them to work, giving advice on money management, talking pros and cons of different colleges, and helping them with relationship problems.
They will always need you. It will just look different with every new chapter of their lives.
