The TK-17 Arkhangelsk wasn’t just a submarine—it was a floating fortress beneath the waves. As part of Russia’s legendary Typhoon-class, it stretched an enormous 175 meters (574 ft) and carried 20 R-39 ballistic missiles, making it one of the most formidable underwater war machines ever built. ⚓☢️
With double pressure hulls, advanced acoustic stealth systems, and even onboard luxuries like a swimming pool and sauna, the Typhoon-class was built for long-duration missions in deep, hostile waters—without surfacing for months. Though now retired, Arkhangelsk remains a monument to Cold War engineering supremacy.
