My definition of rich is a little different…

I’ve had people send me the news about the tragic incident on Goliath today. Crazy enough, I rode that coaster several times yesterday.

Definitely puts things into perspective. Our thoughts are with everyone affected. ❤️

6 PM GROUP CANCELED — DAY 4 😩

I really thought we were FINALLY going to get lucky today since it hadn’t rained a ton… but apparently Florida had other plans. 😂

The radar has completely filled in around us with heavier pockets moving through Volusia, and with no covered area to train, I’m calling tonight’s group.

TONIGHT’S 6 PM GROUP IS CANCELED

I know this is frustrating but I’ve been watching the radar all day hoping we could make tonight work.

Unfortunately, the 2:00 → 2:30 → 3:00 radar isn’t showing a real clearing trend. We’re in a temporary dry pocket, but there’s a large area of rain moving toward Volusia with more moisture still along the coast.

Even if we happen to catch a dry window right at 6, the park has already taken on a ton of water and will be wet, sandy and gross.

Our only realistic backup would be training along the North Causeway sidewalk, and there’s zero overhead coverage if another shower comes through.

I don’t want everyone loading up their dogs, driving over and getting 15–20 minutes into class just to get rained out.

So unfortunately, I’m calling tonight’s group.
I appreciate everyone being patient with me this week.

I can control a lot of things with dog training… apparently Florida weather isn’t one of them. 😂

Hopefully we can finally get a break tomorrow! 🤞

Finally picked up the custom brace the VA had made for my foot/ankle. Not exactly excited about having to wear this thing 😂

But I’m still working. Still training dogs. Still lifting. Still pushing myself.

And honestly, it reminds me a lot of dog training.

You adapt. You find another way. You keep progressing.

Not every dog learns the same way. Not every person moves through life the same way either. Sometimes the plan has to change but that doesn’t mean the goal does.

I tell my clients all the time: progress doesn’t have to look perfect to still be progress.

Weather Watch for Tonight 🌧️🐕

Tonight’s 6 PM New Smyrna group is going to depend on the weather. With rain expected throughout most of the day, the sandy ground at the park is going to be very wet and mucky regardless of whether it’s raining right at 6.

We can potentially use the sidewalk along North Causeway if the rain clears, but there’s no overhead coverage if it’s actively raining.

I’ll keep watching it and make the final call later this afternoon. Check the app/website before heading out!

I will also text each person registered for the class personally if and when it is cancelled.

Act natural… nobody saw that. 😂

Going to call tonight’s 6 PM group!
I’ve already had a handful of people cancel because they understandably don’t want their dogs soaking wet and gross and looking at the radar, I don’t blame them.

Even if it’s not pouring at exactly 6, there really isn’t going to be enough of a break for the City Center area to dry out. Everything is going to be soaked.

So let’s all agree with that decision and stay dry tonight 😂We’ll try again tomorrow in nsb at Buena vista.
