Those that have been following me for a while know I absolutely love watching the that live in the woods around my home. There's a doe who's had twins that comes out almost every evening with her babies, and I always love getting a glimpse of the adorable little fawns when they come out to eat their dinner.

193 days.

That’s how long I have been actively looking for a new job. Since February of this year, I have spent hours every single day looking for a new role.

I exhausted LinkedIn and Indeed. When I finally joined a Reddit community to commiserate with other job seekers on the struggles of job searching, I realized that a lot of the jobs posted on LinkedIn and even Indeed are scams- just companies phishing for info to add people to mailing lists or get them to follow their company page.

I began to use old school methods of finding a job- going in person to ask for openings, reaching out personally to my connections to ask if they might know of anything I would be a good fit for, and using good ole Google to find other job sites that may not be as mainstream, such as sites meant for startups to find employees.

I need to apologize, y'all. Those who have been with me for a while now already know that life has been absolutely insane lately, and the life I knew before is completely gone.

A few months ago, I posted that I was going to be closing my business services down. And then I went through some MAJOR life changes and I started offering services again because I felt like I had to... However, I still feel the same about marketing and graphic design and stuff as I did before, and I realized I was repeating the same cycles- which is something I do not want to do.

After giving things a lot of thought over the last few weeks, moving forward, I am going to be focusing on simplifying my life as much as possible so I can focus on what and who are truly important to me.

From now on, this page will be the SOLE page for any of my creative projects, such as my blog and my photography. I have deleted the Chicken Nugs and Coffee Mugs page, and from now on you'll be able to follow the blog right here! I will be keeping the websites themselves separate for now, and brittanydawson.net will function as my professional portfolio, while chickennugsandcoffeemugs.com will be the site for my blog. Eventually I may decide to combine the sites in the interest of simplifying things even further, but for now this is the best decision in light of all the changes going on within my life and career.

THANK YOU to all of you for being so supportive and amazing through everything- my business, my personal life, and everything in between. I am beyond grateful for you! ♥

Woody is that you?!

As a kid growing up in the 80s, I spent a lot of time watching Saturday morning cartoons. My Gran loved Woody Woodpecker, and we watched him often at her house. I couldn't help but smile when I saw this gorgeous red-headed in a tree in her yard during a recent visit to Missouri! Gran would have been so excited to see this handsome fellow.
