In July 1982, the body of 18-year-old Pamela Brown was discovered at the bottom of a wooded hill behind St. Monica's School in Barre, Vermont. For decades, her case remained unsolved.
Then, in 2007, investigators received a hit in the Vermont DNA database that matched DNA found on Pam's body to Theodore Caron Jr., a suspect who had been ruled out in the past. To confirm the lead, investigators collected a discarded coffee cup he left outside a state office building. The DNA on the cup confirmed the match and moved the case forward.
