BLACK GOAT, the 44 min minute Lovecraftian television pilot that we showed at the 2021 Festival was created by Davey Robertson, (producer, cinematographer, editor of The Call of Cthulhu and The Whisperer in Darkness), and Executive Produced by Sean Branney and Andrew Leman, and it is now available to the public!

While not a direct Lovecraft adaptation, it's infused with more than a little Lovecraftian mojo.

Black Goat will be premiering TONIGHT Screambox TV Friday at 8 pm ET, and then will be available on demand streaming at Midnight tonight through the Screambox app and website.

On this day, 88 years ago, H. P. Lovecraft died. More than merely influenced by his writings, our daily lives have been irrevocably altered by his mythology, and indeed, Cosmic Horror itself, which seems a more and more relevant worldview, as each year passes. We live in different times, with different attitudes, and a much more worldly mindset… but those tentacles that sprang from Lovecraft’s imagination still slither through the shadows over our lives and within our imaginations.

Oh wow! Several films in this list from the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival PDX!

With the New Year on us, it is time to rate the best horror movies of 2024. What initially appeared to be a tough year for the genre turned itself around late. This year won't be as impactful as last year, but it had some terrific films at the front of the pack that fans will remember and cherish.

Our Arkham Bazaar Fhtagn Friday sale is almost over! Get in on the action and save some dough with coupon code FTGN2024 (use during checkout before Midnight tonight, Fri Dec 6). Among our many new products is this sweet Miskatonic window sticker.

Our brand new MU window sticker! I picked ‘em up today, and they look great (except for how I didn’t get it straight… you can’t tell, right?). Not too big, not too small, this looks just right. You can get them now on Arkham Bazaar, and if you get it today (before Midnight, Fri Dec 6), you can use the coupon code FTGN2024 to get 20 percent off this and any products in the store.

Need a little levity? It's the moment no one has been waiting for, and no one asked for! The super cut of our streaming edition block intros. It helps - a lot - if you know Dark Shadows, the gothic soap opera from the 1960s. (Psst... be sure to stick around for the post-credit scenes)

It is with much sadness that we report the bad news that Scott Connors, frequent festival attendee and contributor, has passed on. Besides being one of the preeminent scholars on the work and life of Clark Ashton Smith, as well as H. P. Lovecraft, he was a truly sweet man, who always had time for us. We truly hoped that the news we heard a few days ago was untrue, so we hesitated to report it until we could say for certain, but we have now corroborated with enough sources that we’re confident it is true. He lived a quiet life, mostly alone, except for the community he had in CAS and Lovecraft fandom.

We wish the photos we had of him were more flattering, but these pictures represent a really special moment at the 20th annual H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival in 2015, when we were honored to bring him on stage to award him for his scholarship. He was NOT expecting it, and was taken quite by surprise, though he more than earned not just the award, but our affection.

We had many nice times with him over the years, including a memorable dessert at Necronomicon, and just a couple of years ago, despite our own political differences, he stood up for us when a far right YouTuber attempted to slander the festival. While we haven’t seen Scott in person since the pandemic, we will miss his presence in our family. Take care, Scott. We’ll meet you again one day somewhere beyond the door to Saturn.
