In case you missed it, our good friends and compatriots at the HPLFF launched their first ever Not-Kickstarter fundraising campaign for this year's HPLFF, taking place Oct 2-4 at the Hollywood Theatre and streaming Dec 4-6. They're a little over 90% of their initial goal, and there's only about 15 days left to go. They just released this year's pin design and a new set of notecards with art by Erika Heins. They're also working on releasing the T-shirt design soon.

The annual Lovecraftian Micro Fiction contest is open! Deadline for entries is September 10th. The top 10 winners will be published in a book to support the annual festival fundraiser (coming soon!). What a great video! The Hollywood Theatre has made so much of what we do possible year after year, from amazing projection and sound to special events including live dramatic speakers, period radio play performances, pipe organ accompaniment, and event live concerts like Japanese idol band Necronomidol, Patti Smith, The Darkest of The Hillside Thickets, and more. We love you Hollywood! (And it’s fun that our Portland Horror Film Fest happens to be on the marquee in this video - BTW if you’re going to their 100th Anniversary opening night tonight, say hi! We’ll be in the audience!)

HPLFF alumni filmmaker Benjamin Capps (he’s the guy that makes Weird psychosexual flicks with life-sized stop motion puppets, like 2024’s “Terminal Emulator” and “Civet” from a few years back) is at it again and has two days left in his next film’s fundraiser. Help him create the kind of Weirdness no one else does!

INVECT is a short, supernatural, sci-fi, horror film combining live action and life-size, stop motion animation.
