Father’s Day & my Birthday form a “me” block, so I think about what it means to be me a bunch. I love tradition, I also am an iconoclast & make my own things up - but! I believe in structure & am really tired of the dissolution & chaos in this country, I need people to get it together & stop putting blame on things outside of them (even if that’s the case.)

We watched Fury Road again last night, got me thinking about Doomerisn more. When I was a kid the romance of the slate being wiped clean & an opportunity to start again was so enticing for me, for so many of us. But, the reality is, the world is complicated & it just gets more so & a clean slate is just an abstraction & delusion of the mind! The apocalypse looks good when it has good art direction!

I’ve got an emergency to share with you all - I am in a crisis - I’m in a moral quandary about using the face & platform of Zuckerberg to promote my business. We’re all stuck in this social media glue trap. & we know it’s as good for us as smoking & we need something new (or old) cos this s**t ain’t working. It’s not just one platform it’s all of them! I was looking through old art this morning & found this - the mouse, the bird & the sausage against the Invisible Empire! I decided at a certain point that I wanted my designs to be ubiquitous like tattoo flash, to have that resonance as a visual language that would be there for decades to come. I also decided to make some zines of my drawings in black & white so they can easily be tattooed! From GOBLINKO!

I woke up at 4 this morning filled with good thoughts of meaning & depth, including some new ideas for The Battle For Brüttelburg! My brain is a funny thing, how it seems to just run ahead or slow down (or stop working correctly in terms of the stroke!) & yet… when I take care of it & do the right thing in terms of eating right, getting sleep, reading a lot, prioritizing curiosity & just plain thinking, my brain is happy, I am happy!

Here I am with Gilbert Gottfried on his last stand up tour before passing. The release of humor in the face of everything in the world is really crucial for life. Things are absurdly bad in the DUNGEON DEGENERATES world but humor elevates the experience & makes it not so Grim Dark but Grim Bright (I’m sure my colors add to this). I am using more humor in the Battle for Brüttelburg video game than on any project thus far, because we all need a laugh. Kickstarter live now, link in bio.

My kids are all teenagers now & huge, they’re all taller than me! Despite the amount of work I was doing when they were little, I also managed to experience every step of the way fully, to be there in a way that most fathers that work that hard aren’t able to. I’m ready to spread some energy to the kids in the rest of the world & improve humanity!

I’ve been doing talk therapy for the last couple months to help unwind some of the screwiness that I developed as a kid as survival mechanisms that aren’t serving me as an adult, one of the things I’m working on is bringing weird, funny SEAN to the fore, so I’ve been listening to a lot of Dr. Demento from the mid 80s when I used to tape it & trade tapes with my friends!
