I’m sometimes amazed at PORK - as I wouldn’t have believed it existed if we hadn’t made it, which is a good feeling to have - it’s a great feeling to have.

KISS - scenes from the first four years. The idea of the circus, theatre & performance in general has consistently been part of my understanding of art as a communications medium since I started to understand what it was that I was doing. There’s something primal in the presentation of this band that brings out a very basic understanding of character & archetype that really speaks to a very basic thing in my soul, that I especially understood when I was a kid & first encountered KISS.

Community gets taken for granted. Now that it’s so diminished, it’s obvious what it was holding together. So, reach out to people you know, bury hatchets, get off high horses & work together! Working with people from all over has a calming effect on everyone. They need it. We need it.

Sometimes subtlety within something unsubtle is not understood by many. PORK was all about those subtle differences inside of an unsubtle vehicle. Unfortunately what I’ve learned is that once the volume is cranked up to 11, people have a hard time differentiating anything. It all becomes energy level. The way the story goes is I spent too long with the volume cranked up to 11 & had a stroke, now my volume is set at a sensible three. But, I’ve lived to tell the tale & adapt. I encourage you to do the same.
