Derby Market now in Kenton!

Current happenings! This is something I’ve been dreaming up this past year and it just so happens there’s no better time than now! I am working hard to acquire accounts with local curators, makers, growers and dreamers alike. I will be bringing you kitchen staples, deli items, take and bakes and some dry goods and of course, take out and delivery from our regular menu items!! And guess what else?! Bowery Bagels, Pat’s Pantry Spices, Jacobsen Salt and more to come. Wait, did I mention ICE CREAM! As expected, new sanitation and safety policies and procedures will be implemented. Providing you with a safe place to shop at ease with your health in mind is my goal. Keep posted for what to expect at the end of this month. I’m really excited and can’t wait to see you all again!

Today is the Day! Oak Knoll Winery is officially 50 Years old.

50 years ago, Ron and Marj opened Oak Knoll winery on May 18, 1970. Oak Knoll was the first Negotiatant winery in the state of Oregon, meaning they sourced all their fruit and grapes from other growers. To date, Oak Knoll Winery is the 4th oldest winery in Oregon. Back then the winery was a place that people came to hang out and attend the famous Bacchus Goes Bluegrass, and to this day still, talk about the good ole days.

In 2003, the 2nd Generation, Greg, and Jeff took over the day to day operations and have been running the winery ever since. The winery still has that same down-home feel and is a place where people like to come to hang out and listen to music. We pride ourselves on being hospitable and treating everyone like family.

We hope you will enjoy this day with us and open a bottle of your favorite Oak Knoll Wine and make a toast to another 50 years!

HARRY TRUMAN
(Tom Hunter) [Mt. St. Helens, 1980]

He had lived up there since 'twenty-nine,
Run a lodge and filled his time
Drinkin' whisky, raisin' cats and telling big tall tales
And now the mountain home he had
Was shaking, like the earth gone mad,
When they warned him, he said "No, I think I'll stay."

CHORUS
If the mountain goes, Then I'll go with it.
If the mountain goes, I'll go a-long
If the mountain goes, Then I'll go with it.
I'm gonna stay right here 'cause here's where I belong.

Vote Sam Adams by May 19

Since 2002 when Mike Sant and I started Choose Local we had been around Sam Adams in our share of business setting and I have found him to be VERY smart, GREAT listener, and creative and willing to look, listen, and support out of the box ideas when necessary. He respects experience but will support solid new ideas that make sense. Choose Local has always did our best to support locally owned business, and Sam is who we need in leadership at this VERY important time with the BIG issues facing all of us in Portland Metro. VOTE SAM ADAMs and lets get going! PLEASE VOTE!
