PORTLAND TRANSPLANTS:
Chad Wolf is the “acting” Secretary of Homeland Security, a job to protect us from terrorists he got without having a confirmation hearing, who does not have any qualifications to be the DHS Secretary, who will do whatever Trump tells him to do, including invading cities like ours. We ask you all to help by calling the Senator of your home state and asking yoir friends and family back home to do the same and demanding Trump remove THE MILITARY from Portland and that CHAD WOLF must have a confirmation hearing!
Below is a script that you and your people can use as inspiration - My name is ______, I am a native of XX and I currently live in Portland. I’m calling as a concerned citizen - I’d like to ask for your help getting the military out of Portland, and ask that you demand that acting DHS Secretary, Chad Wolf, have the confirmation hearing he never got to have. Military force on cities is against what we stand for and must be stopped immediately!

Beautiful.
Black Lives Matter.

To be clear: I support sovereign BIPOC-only spaces, such as privately organized bike rides, and you should too.

(All photos by Ebony Hall.) By all accounts, Friday’s Black Liberation Ride (held on Juneteenth) was a beautiful gathering of Black, Indigenous and people of color from all over the Read More »

Hundreds of cyclists rode through the streets of North and Northeast Wednesday night to participate in the movement for racial justice taking place across the city, the nation and the globe. The bike ride was organized by the Portland chapter of Black Girls Do Bike, a national grassroots organization that promotes wellness, inclusivity and community for African American women, with a focus on cycling.

Systemic racism can’t be fixed without tackling it within cycling.

From BikePortland.org: “Want to turn every stop sign (and flashing red signal) into a yield and keep your precious momentum?

Please take a few minutes to email the House Rules Committee THIS WEEKEND and tell them why you support Senate Bill 998.

[email protected]

If they vote in favor of it Monday (6/24), the bill would be headed to final passage via a vote on the House floor.

This is the best chance we've had for this legislation since it was first introduced in 2003. We can do this! Please share with friends and email your thoughts to [email protected].”

Your emails this weekend could make all the difference.
