Think St. Patrick was Irish? Nope. Think he chased snakes out of Ireland? Never happened. And who in Ireland has actually eaten a boiled dinner?!

Tune in to The Morning Beat with me and Gráinne on WMPG at 6:30 AM as we bring you the morning’s craic and bust all the St. Paddy’s Day myths including the one that irks us both the most - it is not St. Pat’s or St. Patty’s—enough of that nonsense!

We'll be playing our favourite tracks from the north and south of Ireland.

Sláinte and see you then!

Coming up this Wednesday, March 5th, Nora Flaherty (Maine People's Alliance) is my guest. Nora will join me at 7.30am.

I'm a massive David Bowie fan, and Life on Mars is one of my all-time favorites! After his death, Lorde gave a truly magical performance of it during a tribute to Bowie at the BRITs—it was so good!

I was looking for Lordes cover tribute of David Bowie's "Life On Mars?" from the Brit Awards last night and I couldn't find a video including just the Life O...

This Wednesday (Nov 27th), my special guest is Victoria Pelletier, outgoing Portland, Maine City Councilor and the second Black woman elected to the seat. A champion for racial equity and intersectionality, Victoria is the National Partnerships Manager at RepresentWomen, focusing on women’s representation and democracy solutions.

Previously, she amplified Global Majority voices at Portland Empowered and led racial equity projects across Maine’s municipalities. Passionate about dismantling oppression and driving meaningful policy change, Victoria finds joy outside of work in Beyoncé’s Renaissance and celebrating all facets of Black joy.

Tune in to 90.9FM or stream at wmpg.org to hear Victoria’s music picks and insights on how music shapes her life.
