Born in Italy in 1474, Saint Angela Merici is an inspiring example of lifelong service to the Lord despite great hardship, especially through her education of young girls in the Catholic faith. Having suffered as an orphan herself, she founded what is now the Ursuline Sisters, which was the first teaching order of women in the Church. She is the patroness of the sick, the disabled, and those grieving the loss of parents.
Saint Angela Merici, pray for us!
Another great meme about the conversion of Saint Paul (even though the feast was yesterday)!

Today we celebrate the Feast of Saints Timothy and Titus, close companions and disciples of Saint Paul who helped lead the early Church through early persecutions and religious strife. Pope Benedict XVI said that Timothy and Titus “teach us to serve the Gospel with generosity, knowing that this also involves a service to the Church itself.”
Happy Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul!
This evening at 7:30 p.m. PT, the 100th episode of "Blazing the Trail" will air on Mater Dei Radio! 🎉💯

Today is the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul the Apostle. As a young man, Paul (then called Saul) fiercely persecuted the earliest Christians. While on the road to Damascus to arrest the Christians there, he was blinded by a great light and fell to the ground. He heard the voice of Jesus asking, "Why are you persecuting me?" Saul was blind for three days, and was then directed by the Lord in a vision to go to the house of a disciple in Damascus, who baptized him.
Healed of his blindness, Paul immediately began to proclaim Jesus as the Messiah. He became an incredible witness for Christ: working miracles, founding communities of Christians all around the ancient world, explaining early Church teaching, writing many of the New Testament letters, and finally dying as a martyr many years later.
Saint Paul the Apostle, help us not be afraid to radically change our lives when we encounter Christ and to boldly proclaim His Good News!
This was too funny to pass up on St. Frances De Sales’ feast day!
Saint Frances De Sales, patron of writers and journalists, pray for us!

The Pool of Siloam is the place where Jesus healed a man who had been blind since birth. A coming excavation will expose the ancient pool so visitors can view it as part of a tourist route,
The Pool of Siloam, where the Bible says Jesus healed a blind man, was originally a holy site for Jewish pilgrims.

It was a rough time…
Saint Agnes was born to a noble Roman family in 291, who consecrated herself to Christ at a young age. After she refused to marry, Agnes was condemned to death for being a Christian at the age of 13. There are many legends surrounding her death, but we know that Agnes welcomed death bravely so she could be with Christ her Bridegroom. Saint Agnes, pray for us!
Time spent before the Blessed Sacrament is always well spent!

This morning as many Catholics throughout America complete the National Prayer Vigil for Life, we join in prayer for an end to abortion and a greater respect for all human life.
"A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world.
Through special initiatives and in daily prayer,
may an impassioned plea rise to God, the Creator and lover of life,
from every Christian community, from every group and association, from every family and from the heart of every believer."
— Pope Saint John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae
What a beautiful life! Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. 🙏
Seventy-six years later, Sister Andre moved to Toulon, in southern France, where she resided in the Sainte Catherine Labouré retirement home. It was here that she passed away.
The words of hope found in today's verse for the Gospel Acclamation are based on 2 Timothy 1:10!
You know well enough that Our Lord does not look so much at the greatness of our actions, nor even at their difficulty, but at the love with which we do them.”
- Saint Thérèse of Lisieux

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
Another priest was shot in the Jan. 15 bandit attack but survived.
Saint Anthony the Abbott (also known as Saint Anthony "of the Desert" or "of Egypt") gave up all his worldly possessions to pursue a life of solitude, prayer, and work as a hermit in the desert, sometimes undergoing intense temptations from the devil. He is regarded as the founder of Christian monasticism because his example inspired others to live in the desert, apart from the world. Saint Anthony, pray for us!
“Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you.” (Mark 5:44)
