To the mothers who've lost their children to gun violence: You are not alone
Mother's Day will never be the same for us. There will always be an empty seat at the table, a echo of an “I love you mom” that will never be heard again. But we carry our children in our hearts and souls and in our missions to end gun violence.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and while the world is talking about mental health, we need to talk about it *our* way.

In Black families affected by gun violence especially, mental health is often the unspoken weight we carry.

Heavenly Father, thank you for our rest and this day we begin refreshed in body mind, heart, and spirit. We pray everyone enjoys a safe day. Special prayers for those recuperating from recent medical procedures. May they be restored to good health for quality of life.
LORD, hear our prayers for our family, friends, children, elders, the handicapped and their caregivers. May all listed as “MISSING” return safely home to their families. Heal all of their health and medical issues. Comfort the families who mourn the loss of their children to gun violence and there loved ones. Protect the Enforcers and the Peacemakers who protect US from evil. Give peace to all who battle depression. Provide the homeless and those in need with the means to survive life on the streets.
GOD, deliver US from evil and peril as we journey in peace and goodwill. Allow our health to be so as to continue to enjoy quality of life. Keep family and friends safe and healthy in all activities and travels. Let peace and healing be with your people. I pray for couples who have recently become engaged, newly wedded couples, expecting parents, and new parents as they go forth on their new dreams and adventures. Father, may you be part of their journey to guide, protect, and comfort them along. LORD, be with US as we continue our day and remove all that is not intended by you. I pray this in the name of The Father, of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit. Amen.
