Rip City Sound

Rip City Sound Mobile sound reinforcement and multi-track audio recording.

Operating as usual

Things continue to get better and better for Rip City Sound! I'd like to take a moment to formally welcome Kyle Snell to the Rip City Sound team. Kyle just relocated to Portland from Phoenix, AZ. He brings TONS of live sound and production experience to the table. He has an outstanding ear and a knack for working a digital console like no other!

One of my objectives is to surround myself with folks that are more talented than I am... I'm very fortunate to continue that trend by bringing Kyle on board!

Welcome to the team Kyle!

Looking forward to doing audio for this show with Stumptown Bliss Saturday night! Check out the live broadcast tomorrow night on!

It's full steam ahead with the Cherry Poppin' Daddies!

Join us Saturday night for this jubilant, twisting psychobilly dance music!

Saturday July 27th, 8:30 PM

Friday night @ Jimmy Mak's... Be there! Jennifer Batten will be performing with a group of all star musicians including Patrick Lamb for a Michael Jackson tribute show! For those of you that don't know, Jennifer did 3 world tours with Michael Jackson and she is one badass guitarrist... This is going to be a super fun show... I had a chance to watch a little bit of their rehearsal today and the band sounds great!

If you haven't already, be sure to reserve seats in advance and I hope to see many of you at the show!

I am very excited (and honored) to have the opportunity to run audio for the live video broadcast of the 4 Peaks Music Festival out in Bend, OR this weekend wit Stumptown Bliss! Good music, good company, lots of cool people, production geeks, camping, camp fires, cook outs, and beer... This is going to be an EPIC weekend!!!

I wanted to take a moment to welcome Ben Jones to the Rip City Sound team! Ben is an extremely talented bass player and he brings mountains of common sense to the company. He is very intelligent, yet he abides by the "keep it simple stupid!" mantra... Which is good because I have a tendency to overcomplicate things at times. :)

Ben, it's an honor to have you on the team and I look forward to putting on many live productions with you!

Things are shaping up nicely for Rip City Sound. I'm pleased with the progress thus far. That said, this isn't a one man show... I have just begun the process of building a team of talented audio production engineers that are trustworthy, reliable, consistent, hard working, and that have little-to-no ego.

I'd like to formally welcome Dave Slay to the Rip City Sound team. First of all, Dave has the best last name ever... Seriously, wouldn't it be cool to have the last name "Slay"??? What a rocker!!! Anyways, Dave is a long time production vet. He has years and years of knowledge & experience under his belt doing audio and video work for all kinds of broadcast applications. He is a super smart guy and has already made a positive impact on the company.

I'm still looking for some additional engineers as well as some helping hands and/or interns that are interested in joining the Rip City Sound team. If you are interested, please don't hesitate to reach out. My email is [email protected].

Thanks folks!

Behringer: DIGITAL MIXER X32

Might as well start with the heart of the system... Meet the Behringer X32 digital mixer. This thing is amazing! We also have two of the Behringer S16 digital snakes. What does that mean? That means that I can run 32 tracks plus monitor sends back to stage while recording all 32 tracks simultaneously... And I can do it all via a CAT 5 cable from 1,000 feet away. I think the word "Awesome" fits the bill! :)

Check it out!

Ever since the 'dawn of digital' audio engineers the world over have had a love-hate relationship with their consoles. The new BEHRINGER X32 digital mixing console lets you focus on your event, instead of navigating a vast sea of knobs, buttons and menus like most other live digital mixers. X32 is i...
