R100 synopsis:

Nao Ohmori (star of Takashi Miike's Ichi the Killer) plays Takafumi Katayama, a mildmannered father who escapes the pressures of daily life by joining a mysterious S&M club, where the so-called Queens visit clients in real-life settings. While at first the rough treatment and humiliation he receives from leather-clad women in cafés and restaurants is enjoyable, Takafumi soon realizes that he's opened a door that cannot be closed. Unable to end his relationship with the club, he finds himself pursued by a gang of ruthless dominatrices, each with a very unique talent. Takafumi must either find a way to turn the tables, or walk even further down this dark yet sexy path.

Welp we've been doing this thing on the regular and Mr. Eddy Bolz
penned this little write up.

Portland Cinema Parlor-
Portland Cinema Parlor is a cozy micro-cinema in the West End that showcases in bizarre, unique, unusual, quirky, crazy, offbeat, outlandish, sporadic, superb, novel, horrific, often funny, and wicked films. That's a lot of adjectives, but that basically sums up the stuff you can expect to experience at Portland Cinema Parlor.

Admission is always free and bring what you want for snacks or beverages. Screening's typically happen every Monday night around 7:30pm. Come as you are, leave forever scarred.

I'm so excited I might go home and fondle my sweaters.

Tonight:

When Joel (Paul Rudd) and Molly (Amy Poehler) meet, it's hate at first sight: his big Corporate Candy Company threatens to shut down her quirky indie candy shop. Plus, Joel is hung up on his sexy ex (Cobie Smulders). But amazingly, they fall in love, until they break up about two thirds of the way through, and Molly starts dating her accountant (Ed Helms). But then right at the end...well you'll just have to see. (Hint: Joel makes a big speech and they get back together.) From the director of Wet Hot American Summer, Wanderlust and Role Models comes a hilarious and irreverent subversion of the romantic comedy genre.

Tonight's feature: René Laloux, director of Fantastic Planet [La Planète sauvage], created Gandahar, his final animated feature film, in 1988. Based on an original story by Jean-Pierre Andrevon, and a huge hit in France at the time of its release, it combines Laloux's famous imagination with that of animation designer Philippe Caza. Gandahar is a fascinating, adult animation which examines genetic mutation, the importance of organic farming, and urges a respect for nature that resonates today more than ever.Life in the idyllic paradise of Gandahar seems peaceful and in joyous order, until the Mirror Birds report that inhabitants of whole villages have been turned to stone. A council of women chooses Sylvain Lanvère to uncover Gandahar's mysterious metallic attackers. In doing so, he finds an underground race of deformed Gandaharians and an oversized motherbrain, both the result of botched genetic experiments.

If you have kids between 4-8 and you think they might have funny things to say, I am working on a spec piece right now that's sort of a "Kids Say The Darndest Things" for the new millineum. We are shooting next Monday, Columbus Day, so if you are looking for something fun to do with your kids, and you think they might have some funny in them, get in touch and I will set up a time slot for you. I don't need actors, I just need real kids that say funny things. Let me know if you are interested!

http://bonkeyheads.com/

No acting experience needed. Non-union. Kids will be asked questions based on their real life experience (family, school, hobbies, etc) so no rehearsal needed.

We were honored to host Portland theater collective Lorem Ipsum as they rehearsed their upcoming production of Wallace Shawn's vulgar and blushworthy play Our Late Night. Their opening night is tomorrow, and we wish them six rad shows at Rose Contemporary over the next two weeks. See you there, friends!
