I’m terrible about checking the mail or opening the mail, but we got this today! ❤️ It makes my heart happy that aside from them posting on their fb page and sending it to the staff in a newsletter, we got a formal letter too! I love that they genuinely appreciated the donation, and all of the work that went into it! Thank you all again and I’m hoping this years will be even bigger!

Toni and Asher Knight made a generous donation of $2,100 in gas cards to the WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital Oncology Patient Assistance Fund in memory of Lesia Knight, their mother/grandmother who passed away from small cell lung cancer. Funds were raised by holding the Lesia Knight Memorial Car Show on September 28 in Powhatan Point, an event they hope to hold annually to support cancer patients. During the event, food was sold and a Chinese auction was held. Toni and Asher credit the success of the event to the support they received from the community. We delivered 84 $25 gas cards today! We met with a few ladies from the hospital who work with the cancer patients and hand out the gas cards! They asked who all helped with the car show and I told them, we had TONS of help from some of the greatest people ever! I made sure they knew that NONE of this would have been possible without all of you! ❤️ Wheeling Hospital will be posting our story in their hospital newsletter, and all of their social media! As soon as I see their post, I will make sure to share it. I told them about this page and that I would let them know when we have a date for next years, and hope some of them would want to come to the show!! I’m hoping for August 2nd. I just have to check to make sure we can get the park for that day! My bestie CiJi Hurley made stickers for the gas cards as well and they loved it! And I made sure they had a dash plaque! Thank you all again! ❤️

I just heard back from Bonnie at Wheeling Hospital and everything is set for us to take the gas cards over Monday! ❤️

Sorry it’s been so long since the last update. Between work, health, and losing a pet, it’s been a rough 1.5 months. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But today, we’re going to Kroger to purchase 84 $25 gas cards. 😊❤️ The woman I spoke to at Kroger in Moundsville, was so nice. I asked if there would be a good time to come, or if they would want me to do a certain amount at a time, bc I don’t want to cause anyone any stress with buying so many. She said I could come in whenever and they would get it all taken care of. 😊 Then I’ll double check with the hospital that we can take them over next Wednesday. It’s the only day that my son and I both have off and he absolutely has to be with me! Thank you all again for the support! ❤️. We couldn’t have done any of this without all of you!

I just called Wheeling Hospital and spoke to a wonderful woman from marketing named Bonnie! She was fantastic!! She will be calling me back in a couple days to let me know what gas stations would be best for the patients. I wanted to make sure that they got a card, that was to a place easily accessible for them. She was beyond happy for what we’ve done and how much we raised, for our first year. She asked if we would be ok with taking a picture when we make the donation. As much as I dislike pictures, I told her that would be fine lol. I hope that getting the word out about our Car Show and cause, will bring many more cars next year! Thank you all again! I honestly can’t say it enough! Without all of you, this wouldn’t have been possible! ❤️❤️. We love you all!

The 1st annual Lesia Knight Memorial Car Show was a success! I am so very happy with how the day went! I seriously can’t thank you all enough. There were some other car shows going on today, but we still had 27 cars. 27 cars that didn’t care that we didn’t have trophies, and was there bc they wanted to support us, honoring my mom! I am happy to report that we will be able to purchase 42 $50 gas cards, for cancer patients that’s currently going through treatments. We raised $2,115.00. ❤️❤️ I never thought we would reach that our first year. You are all so amazing and I can’t thank you all enough for the support. Those who could be a part of this day, donating food or auction items, and the money donations, THANK YOU ALL! I can’t wait to do it again next year. I’ll keep the page updated with the ideas we’ve talked about. I’m so excited to see this grow! I know my mom would have been extremely happy with today and knowing that so many people loved her! ❤️. Thank you for showing up for us! Oh and correction, we had 28 cars lol. We didn’t have trophies, but this little lady won BEST OF SHOW, hands down! ❤️
