Just Like You Films is a nonprofit film company that offers a powerful tool in the fight against bullying. We develop films and materials that educate the local and global communities on how to communicate about difficult subjects, such as childhood cancer, burns, Down syndrome, and autism. JLY Films captures real life stories that teach children how we are more alike than we are different. JLY fi

lms have been viewed over 250,00 times on Youtube in 117 countries and are distributed across the U.S. Recently, the Brazilian government authorized a program where JLY - Down Syndrome will be played in every state health care facility in their country servicing 94 million people. We partner with national organizations like the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the National Down Syndrome Society, the Down Syndrome Guild and the Autism Society. In 2013, the United Nations presented our Down Syndrome film to its members in a general session. And, we were honored to receive the 2013 TASH Positive Images in the Media Award, the 2014 NDSC Education Award, The 2014 Kansas City Jewish Film Festival Trailblazer Award, the AMC Cares Award and we were nominated in four categories and won The 2014 Golden Door International Film Festival Raising Awareness Award. In October 2014, with the help of our public television partner, KCPT, we will launch our films on Learn 360, an educational video subscription platform reaching 8 million kids in 25,000 schools in the United States and Canada.

An unforgettable night on the red carpet at the St. Louis premiere of Soul on Fire 🔥🎬

Grateful for the incredible company ✨ Toni Farina — producer, storyteller, and the gracious host who invited us — has collaborated with Sean McNamara and Brookwell McNamara Entertainment on major studio and streaming projects. She’s a credited producer on Soul on Fire and has worked on Moonrise, Shadrach, and On a Wing and a Prayer.

And pictured alongside me, the amazing Michelle Davidson Bratcher — a five-time regional Emmy Award–winning writer, producer, host, and actor. A fierce advocate for Missouri film, she’s led Film In MO and KC Women in Film & TV, while also appearing in House of Cards, Halt and Catch Fire, and the feature Nailbiter.

So honored to share this premiere with such inspiring women in film 💫

Quinci is a recent magna cm laude graduate of Chapman University with a B.A. in Communication Studies and a minor in Visual Journalism. She brings experience in communications, influencer strategy, and brand marketing, and is also growing her own portrait photography brand.

She’s excited to bring fresh ideas and build on her digital marketing skills while supporting our mission of creating educational, inclusive, and Emmy Award-winning films that inspire empathy and spark change. 💛

Introducing our new intern, !

Luke is a recent cm laude graduate of the University of Denver with a B.A. in Strategic Communication. He first connected with Just Like You Films in 2017 as part of our Facial Anomalies project, and since then he has achieved some incredible milestones. Luke produced a Telly Award–winning short film, has been ranked a semi-finalist in several stand-up comedy competitions, and completed internships in editorial content and digital marketing, honing his skills in storytelling and communications.

He is excited to bring his creativity and energy to the Just Like You Films team

Such a great first meeting on campus for our pilot Early Childhood Program! We began shaping the curriculum around key SEL (Social & Emotional Learning) topics—using music, discussion, hands-on activities, and film clips. 🎶🖍🎬

We’re excited to launch a 6-week pilot this January and can’t wait to see the impact it will have on our youngest learners! 💡🌱”
