🌌 YAVAPAI COUNTY IS GOING DARK
Yavapai County has adopted new outdoor lighting standards designed to help reduce light pollution, protect our nighttime environment, and preserve the incredible dark skies we’re lucky to have here in Northern Arizona. ✨
The updated standards focus on fully shielded, downward-facing lighting, warmer-colored bulbs, and limits on outdoor light levels for residential properties.
💡 What does this mean for you?
As outdoor lights and bulbs need replacing, residents can make the switch to lighting that directs light where it’s needed, instead of up into the night sky.
From Prescott and Prescott Valley to communities across Yavapai County, changes like these can help keep the stars visible for generations to come. 🌲🌙
