Thunder Mountain Trail – Bryce Canyon Area
Today Chris and I road Thunder Mountain Trail loop through Red Canyon, just outside Bryce Canyon National Park. The full loop is just under 16 miles with roughly 1,700–1,800 feet of climbing, featuring steep switchbacks, exposed ridgelines, hoodoo-filled red rock scenery, and high-elevation riding above 8,000 feet.
This trail definitely challenged me. Some of the steep switchbacks were a little too gnarly for my skill level, so no shame here in hopping off and walking a few sections.
The views across Red Canyon and the winding singletrack through the hoodoos made every pedal stroke worth it.
