The Guys review the first two episodes of DC’s Lanterns on HBO. They weave through the plot and talk about how Damon Lindleof is a JJ Abrams acolyte and was well versed in the Mystery Box trick that is heavily overused. However for a mystery show, it is appropriate here. They go over what they like and what they don’t like. Mack found it watchable but then it took him 24 hours to realize why he felt uncomfortable. Hint: Same reason why The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi ruined their characters.

We've reached two huge milestones. In our 300th episode, the Guys review the past five years of their pod and how it started. DT discusses how 9/11 influenced us and how the 25th anniversary of Band of Brothers and the 60th anniversary of Star Trek came about in the same week. Mack laments wanting to watch it but then they focus on the evolution of Star Trek and how the writing change over the generations. Ultimately, in a time of change, they have hope that good things are ahead for their storied and influential franchise.

I know we're nearly a week late, but we would be remiss if we did not note the passing of several icons last week: the magnificent Dolly Parton, the incomparable Tim Curry, and the wonderful Peter Cullen. Voices of our childhood, fantastic entertainers, and genuine legends. Their legacies will remain with us, and they will be sorely missed.
BONUS: DT Cavman was fortunate enough to meet Peter Cullen in 2023. Enjoy this picture.
