My house is 75 years old, plaster walls and ceilings. I have randomly gotten this crack in two spots on my ceiling. We attempted to repair it by chipping off the loose pieces filling it with spackle sanding it used Kilz2 then ceiling paint. It was ok for a while but now it looks like this. We can not find any moisture at all. What’s happening and how do I fix it?

I was measuring my vents so I would know what size I’d need to replace the covers, and came across this. I’m pretty sure this is black mold.
What do I do? Just clean the area with bleach and go about my day?

Looking suggestions for how to touch up the handrail and spindles. They are not in bad shape but could use a fresh coating. I just don’t know of what, boiled linseed, shellac and varnish, restor-a-finish? Appreciate any thoughts.

We emptied our downstairs so I can strip and finish the floors with tung oil this week, but now that it’s empty, I’m thinking I’d like to repaint this dining room before we put everything back.
Im leaning towards navy or a very dark ultra marine.
Spam me with your moodiest blues!!
Or darkest of plums…. I don’t mind purple but this one is not quite rich enough in real life(it came with the house)

This is the before shot of the floors. I love the. But they are badly damaged. I’m hoping the tung oil will pull pumpkin-y colours from our old pine planks too…. But they may be lighter. It’s gonna be a bit of a surprise!
The kitty is Fergus. He’s a brat prince and he thinks any colour that shows of his byooootiful ginger mane will be perfect. 😂

Our 1923 home has a large fireplace with no charm. Pewabic tile out of Detroit solved that problem.

This radiator was under a wooden cover when I moved into my husbands family home. I have lived here over 30 years and never saw it until last night. It needs a good cleaning and then we are talking about a light coat of paint. Maybe copper? The walls will be white around it with deep greens as accent colors in the adjoining rooms. Any suggestions are welcome 😊

I had painting done this weekend & am dealing with many small but significant splatters and specks on my beautiful floors. Can you all recommend something to remove it without harming my finish? Scrubbing at it will scratch.

✨Update!✨
I posted here a couple of months ago asked for advice on what color to do my porch posts. The majority said white, so I stripped the brick of paint. Painted the posts white and the ceiling a medium charcoal. Removed the security door to show the wood door (which I plan to add framing to making it appear larger and add a porch light). I painted and repaired the soffits and gutters. I repaired the concrete porch, scraped out where someone closed the expansion joints, pulled new expansion joints, and painted it a neutral concrete color this weekend. I started with landscaping, but now I feel like it’s missing something… 😅
Curious for opinions on how to bring pops of color and character back while keeping it clean. I’ve considered wood storm windows, flower boxes, shutters, a different porch color? …maybe just needs more landscaping and flowers?
Any ideas welcome and either way super excited to share this update because we all love a good before and after! ✨
** ignore the two flower pots in the yard, I painted them this weekend and they’ll move to a better spot soon!
