It was a busy night for local law enforcement.
According to Pryor Police Chief Jeremy Cantrell, officers responded to a hit-and-run involving a mailbox and later located the suspect at a local park.
Chief Cantrell said the driver was intoxicated, refused to cooperate with officers, and fled on foot. During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly threw what appeared to be a pistol into a nearby pond before being taken into custody.
GRDA Lake Patrol Officer Tyler Brown confirmed they are assisting in the search of the pond for the object believed to have been a pistol.
