Whew, it’s the day before Thanksgiving and you know what that means, the great ham versus turkey showdown is officially on. So tell us, what team are we rooting for in your house this year? And while we’re at it, go ahead and share the side dish you absolutely have to make every single Thanksgiving. We love hearing what everyone brings to the table.

Keeping our families safe isn’t just about having a first aid kit tucked in a cabinet, it’s all the little routines and systems we build into everyday life. This week we’re talking about the real-world stuff like how we stay organized as blind parents, how we know what our kids need when they come to us in pain or panic, and the ways we prepare our homes for those “please let this never happen” moments. It’s one of those practical, reassuring conversations that reminds you just how much preparation can ease your mind and keep your home running safely.

The BDBU squad reconvened in Austin, Texas for the Texas Throwdown Goalball Tournament, and let me tell you… from the mic to the court, we showed out. 🔥🏐

Playing side-by-side with our best friends hits different. The energy, the laughs, the adrenaline, and the way we showed up for each other? Absolutely unmatched.

Huge thank you to TAPI for hosting such an incredible tournament and to Metroblaze Blind Athletes of Texas for welcoming us onto the court like family. And a massive shoutout to our coach for the weekend — blind soccer Paralympian Ricky Castaneda. Your leadership, encouragement, and expertise made all the difference.

Sending big love to Miss Beverly, who created our jerseys and made sure we were the best looking ones on the court. And thank you to everyone who cheered for us, guided us, and made this whole weekend unforgettable. ❤️

This is community. This is what blind mom athletes look like. ✨

Have you ever been mid-episode just talking back to your phone because you’ve got thoughts to share? Maybe you’ve got a tip we totally missed or a story that deserves its own spotlight. Well, here’s your moment.

We’ve got a voicemail line, and it’s all yours, 423-225-2328. Call in, spill the tea, drop the wisdom, whatever you’ve got. And who knows, you might just hear yourself on a future episode. We can’t wait to listen.

If your day feels hard, wash the towels.

Random, maybe—but hear me out.

One load makes a big dent in the hamper, and towels are the easiest thing to fold—no matching, hanging, or sorting.

It’s a quick win: tangible progress you can point to, something crossed off the list, and a little grace on a heavy day.

So when you don’t know where to start—

when life feels so overwhelming you’d rather crawl back into bed—

just wash the towels.

Let’s talk well visits for our kiddos. These appointments can feel like a whole thing, from checking milestones to getting through the physical exam to trying to remember every question you had, all before your coffee even kicks in. How do you get ready before heading in? Share your tips in the comments so we can all borrow a few ideas.

We finally did it… we hopped on that “Someone in this car…” trend and let’s just say the shade was heavy. Nobody was safe, not even a little bit.
Kisha’s getting glammed up by Terrin and Josselyn, the reads were flying, make-up talk, and somehow we slid straight into a whole conversation about men who date women with kids. This episode is chaotic in the best way.
The reel gives you a quick hit of the madness, but the full mess?
That’s exclusively on Patreon.
Come hang out with us on Drunk Baby Bop Confessions and get the unfiltered version we can’t post anywhere else.

Grief looks different for everyone, and this week we sat down with friend of the pod, Kristin Revere from Gold Coast Doulas to talk about a role many families never even know exists, the bereavement doula. Kristin shares how she supports parents through miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, and traumatic birth, and why having someone beside you who truly understands these moments can make all the difference. She walks us through those early days of shock and overwhelm, how families begin to heal, and why setting gentle expectations for yourself matters so much.

We also dive into what it feels like to re enter daily life after loss, how to give yourself grace around anniversaries and milestones, and what the healing journey can look like even after the doula’s work is done. This episode is compassionate, steady, and full of reminders that grief has no timeline and nobody should walk through it alone. Tune in when you are ready, and feel free to share with someone who may need this conversation.

Veterans Day ❤️🤍💙

Today, we pause to honor the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country with courage, strength, and sacrifice.

For some of us, this day hits close to home. We see the faces behind the uniforms, the families who’ve held it all together through deployments, moves, and homecomings. Whether you’re the one who wore the boots or the one who waited for them to come home, we see you, we thank you, and we honor you.

If you’re part of the BDBU community and you or your loved one has served, drop a comment or a photo below so we can celebrate you today. Your service means more than words can ever say.

💙 With gratitude,
The BABIES DOWN, BOTTLES UP Crew
