New year, new hobby, new perspectives! Find your local Urban Sketchers group, start one, participate online, or keep it all private in your sketchbook. I started drawing with Urban Sketchers of Pueblo, Colorado in 2025, and it has brought so much to my life. From valuable friendships to learning about my community and its history, not to mention the creative and productive aspects of art-on-the-scene, urban sketching has taught me a lot. Please join me in this movement in the new year.

You have today and one day next week to catch Christmas at the Rosemount Museum! "Christmas at Rosemount, a tradition for many families during the holidays, began the day after Thanksgiving (Nov. 28) and continues through 12 noon on December 30. The Women’s Auxiliary decorates the house, both inside and out, for the holidays using thousands of lights and trees in every room," according to their website. I really enjoyed the decorations, history, and museum docents on my recent self-guided tour.

Leave No Trace is a simple principle to follow when using the outdoors for fun or work. While festive in spirit, human-placed items -- including food -- don't belong on our public lands! Please keep decorations in your own yards and homes, not in nature.

What a festive night with Pueblo Heritage Museum at the historic Orman Mansion! Nonprofit and private funding helps keep special homes like these in shape for decades to come.

All Police, Firefighters, and EMTs are invited to join us for a special First Responder Appreciation Day at Fellowship of the Rockies Church on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 3892 W. Northern Ave. in Pueblo.

We have three different time slots in which our responders can drop by for some food! These time slots are morning (8am-10am), afternoon (12-3pm), and evening (6pm-9pm). We would love for our first responders to come and go as their schedule allows.

Working as a first responder on Pikes Peak Highway for one season helped me learn a bit about what challenging roles these are. I will help serve lunch tomorrow. Hope to see Pueblo Police Department, Pueblo Fire, Pueblo Rural Fire, Lake Pueblo State Park rangers, EMTs, and others.

Enjoy the spirit of winter holidays! Tonight, see the Colorado Springs Festival of Lights downtown starting at 5:50 PM. Tomorrow, Dec 7, the Manitou Springs Christmas Parade starts downtown at 6 PM.

The annual Festival of Lights Parade returns on Dec. 6, turning Tejon Street into a dazzling winter display! The parade will kick off at 5:50 p.m., heading south down Tejon Street from Boulder Street to Costilla Street.

Parking will be FREE in these Downtown garages from 3-11 p.m. the day of the parade:
- Bijou/Cascade
- Nevada/Colorado
- Kiowa/Nevada
