In Tracy’s home, education was a team effort.

If her boys scored below 80 percent, they had to call mom and explain why. That one rule built responsibility, discipline, and accountability that carried them into college and beyond.

Parents, what is one rule that helped shape your kids’ success?

Behind every strong leader is someone who helped guide the way.

Tracy talks about the mentors who opened doors for her, and why she now feels a responsibility to pay that forward for others in Pueblo.

Mentorship builds stronger communities.

Tag someone who made a difference in your life or career.

Southern Colorado rivalry runs deep.

After years at CSU Pueblo, Tracy joined the University of Colorado system. That made for a funny moment when the rivalry game came to Pueblo.

New role, same local pride.

Who are you rooting for, CSU or CU?

“I still have a lot to give.”

That mindset led Tracy to start TG 25 Consulting. Her work helps nonprofits, small businesses, and community groups with grant writing, fundraising strategy, volunteer development, and community engagement.

Supporting others is still the mission.

If you lead a business or nonprofit, what is your biggest challenge right now?

Every leadership story starts with one yes.

Tracy began as the first intern at the Latino Chamber of Commerce. Years later, she came back as Chair of the Board and was named Board Member of the Year.

Service has a long ripple effect.

What local organization deserves more support from our community?

Sometimes life sends a message at exactly the right time.

When Tracy and her husband reconnected, he showed her a letter his mom wrote decades earlier. The date was almost 30 years to the day, and Tracy was mentioned in the letter.

Some stories feel bigger than coincidence.

Have you ever had a moment that felt meant to happen?

Some love stories start later. This one started on the elementary school playground.

Tracy and her husband have known each other since they were five years old. Life took them in different directions, then brought them back together years later right here in Pueblo.

Have you ever reconnected with someone from your childhood?

A Slurpee used to cost 50 cents.

Tracy remembers riding bikes across Pueblo to Chicken and Cone with her brother and friends. Those simple moments became part of a lifelong love for this community.

Sometimes the smallest hometown memories stay with us the longest.

What is one Pueblo spot that takes you right back to childhood?

Every Pueblo story starts somewhere.

For Tracy Gutierrez, it started on the east side of Pueblo with a single mom, hard work, and a deep respect for community service.

Those early lessons shaped a career built around helping others, supporting local organizations, and giving back to the place she calls home.

What part of Pueblo did you grow up in, and what memory shaped who you are today?

“I’m only one person.”

Best of Pueblo winner. Community votes. Google award. Still humble.

And now she is training her daughter to carry it forward.

That is roots and reach. Build something meaningful. Then pass it on.

Who taught you the skills you use today?
