From Ellerie's Mom:

Ellerie had a wonderful weekend with her pygmy goats, showing at an NPGA show.

Everyone was happy, healthy and well.

Sadly, on the way home something unexpected happened and Ellerie's beautiful doe Bonnie, passed away without any warning.

Right now, Ellerie is hurting beyond words. Bonnie was an incredible best friend, ambassador and Ellerie's constant partner. Ellerie is looking after Ziggy who misses his best buddy too. We are seeking answers with our veterinary team but we strongly believe that what happened, happened VERY quickly and could not have been prevented. The goats were monitored constantly and were cared for carefully as always.

Our family is beyond heart broken. Bonnie was such an important part of our family and day to day life and the hole she left in our hearts is immense.

We want to be transparent because we know many members of our community loved this little doe too. She made a MASSIVE impact on every life she touched and was an ambassador for the breed for many children and families in our community. She was deeply, deeply loved.

We are so grateful to our friends at Ahsum Pygmies for the chance to love such an incredible little soul. She meant absolutely everything to El and our family.

Please hug your herd just a little extra for us as we navigate this terrible loss. She was the absolute best girl and we are so grateful she was Ellerie's.

I had a super fun day up in Cottonwood today showing Pygmy goats and participating in showmanship. There’s always a ton of learning here and it’s so fun to see everyone’s animals.

Bonnie and Ziggy were both super well behaved and Blackbeard made final drive under the second judge. Ziggy handled his first show so well! There are some incredible goats here and I’m enjoying them all!

I am excited to do it again tomorrow!

Introducing “Lucky Girl’s Beau” from Lucky Girl Rabbitry.

Recently my very much loved rabbit mentor trusted me with one of her beautiful and incredibly special smoke pearl mini rex bucks. I can not begin to tell you how much that means to me.

I’m over the moon to have him as part of our show herd.

As I’ve gotten to know him over the past few weeks, I have found that he’s sweet, a little shy but very playful. He loves toys and is very curious about people. I’m excited to see what he grows into and watch his personality continue to shine.

I have nothing but gratitude for every animal put into my care and respect for the incredible breeders producing them and teaching me along the way.

Bonnie and I were excited to visit our friends at Hope Academy for Autism today with Pawsitive Friendships!

We had a small emergency this weekend which ended in our AC not working properly, rushing back from a family trip and a lot of drama with VERY little sleep.

Luckily, we have an amazing support system and friends to help! Our friends and 4-H club mates got my heat sensitive animals back in to cool spaces and feeling safe and secure before I could even get back into town.

It's critical to have an emergency plan, and emergency PEOPLE if you are going to work with animals! I am very grateful for leaders and club mates who stepped up to help and to check on us!
