Hello everyone! It’s been a while! While I haven’t been making any updates in recent months, slow and steady progress on all Mechanicals for the building have been making progress. Electrical, HVAC and audio wiring are all in progress! Additionally I have secured more funding to give the project a longer financial runway to continue the purchase of materials! Stay tuned! It’s been a while since the last studio build post. Life has thrown some curve balls lately, causing the build to be put on pause for over a month. Anyways, here’s the update!

With 200 fresh 2x4s additional bracing was added to the roof for peace of mind. Then framing of the interior studio walls began. So far the storage room and isolation booth walls have been framed. Next come the control room and the Live room. Then the addition of vibration absorbing framing brackets to tie it all together. That way a minimum 1” air gap between rooms can be maintained and to make everything sturdy! Now that the project is back on course, updates should be more consistent again!

Studio build update!

Finished installing the floor joist gaskets, mineral wood insulation, and 3/4 subflooring to the live band room. Every bit of progress gets the project that much closer to being a fully isolated multi room recording studio! Thanks for your continued support! More updates soon!

Hey everyone! Here’s another studio build update! Spent a lot of time working on the floating floors for the control room, isolation booth and gear storage rooms. 2x4 framing that sits in rubber “U boat” isolators. Then over laid a self adhesive isolation tape/gasket on top of the studs so that the sub flooring doesn’t make direct contact in order to help reduce floor squeaks and vibration pass though. Lastly i filled between the studs with mineral wool to help absorb sound and prevent it from entering/exiting the studio rooms. Will be doing the same configuration for the live band room. Made some good progress on the studio this weekend! Very tedious work but worth it! Completely sealed up the floor with acoustic caulk and then tape. Then applied 2lbs per square ft mass loaded vinyl to the entire floor. Should help a great deal with keeping low end frequencies from entering/exiting through the floor! More updates soon!
