It is a rainy sludgy day over in Boston and that's how it feels like the news has been lately! UGH! If we haven't met, I'm Allison, Owner & Web Designer over at SimplicityDMS. I'm a Mom of two so I may be a bit biased but today I wanted to talk to you a bit about the power of Moms. Sometimes I wonder if people are a bit judgy about whether or not to have a Mom for a web designer. "Will she get my stuff done in time?!" "Will my business be the priority or will it be her kids?!" "What happens if her kids call out sick from school?!"
These are all great questions that demand good answers, and more importantly, follow through. So, I'm going to break it down into some key values that have driven our success over at SimplicityDMS so far -
Time: As a Mom I have learned that compartmentalizing my time is critical for success (both feeling great as a designer and great as a Mom). I've gotten REALLY good at this. And it's important, because when I'm meeting with clients, my focus is 100% on you.
Systems: I built SimplicityDMS from the ground up focusing only on sustainable systems. For your website, for long term growth, and also to prevent me from stretching myself too thin, which therefore would pull my priorities away from you and onto the next big sale. Everything we use, from our hosting, design, widgets and ongoing monitoring tools was designed to be sustainable for your business and provide ongoing value (without big jumps in cost). We LOVE our tech stack, if you will.
Priorities: Our clients are like family, and so are our kids. There is never a text message or email you could send me that would be unwelcome, and we know that your business is in many ways a little kiddo in need of love. We know just how important it is to you, and we want nothing more than to be a part of helping you succeed.
Integrity: I don't like telling my kids one thing and then doing something else, and I don't do that with clients either. That's not how I do business. If I tell you something, I honor it.
Does being a Mom make you a better business owner? I think so, but I'd love to hear your stories!!!
