We were honored to welcome professionals from across the region to the 31st Annual Red Shield Symposium and to recognize a longtime friend of The Salvation Army.

This year, the 2026 Red Shield Award was presented to former Quincy Mayor Chuck Scholz in recognition of his years of public service and unwavering support of the nonprofit community. As an emeritus member of our Advisory Board, Chuck has faithfully championed our mission and the people we serve.

Congratulations, Chuck, and thank you for the leadership, generosity, and servant heart you've shared with our community for so many years. ❤️

On 10/9/26 at 1:42 pm an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3400 block of Main St. Gary Allan Altgilbers, age 61 of Keokuk, was arrested for Driving Under Suspension, a Simple Misdemeanor. Altgilbers was cited and released.

On 10/9/26 at 1:31 officers came into contact with a wanted individual at 1620 Johnson St. Konnor Gene Alan Meierotto, age 24 of Keokuk, was arrested on a warrant for Pre-Trial Violation. Meierotto was held in jail.

On 10/10/26 at 11:43 pm officers observed suspicious activity in a parked car at 955 Mississippi Dr. after city property curfew. Demetrius Dupree Seay-Gilpin, age 21 of Keokuk, was arrested for Possession of Ma*****na 1st Degree, a Serious Misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor, and Interference with Official Acts, a Simple Misdemeanor. Seay-Gilpin was held in jail.

On 10/10/26 at 10:15 am Tayler Andrew McCall, age 27 of Keokuk, was arrested at the Keokuk Police Department for Domestic Assault Choking/Bodily Injury, a Class D Felony. This arrest stems from the report of an assault on 10/6/26 at 7:55 am in the 200 block of Fulton St. McCall was held in jail.

On 10/10/26 at 7:32 am officers were dispatched to Walmart at 300 N Park Dr for the report of an intoxicated individual. Adam Robert Lee Cossel-Gould, age 19 of Montrose was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor, and Public Intoxication, a Simple Misdemeanor. Cossel-Gould was held in jail.

On 10/11/26 at 1:40 pm an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Palean St. Megan Rose Young, age 23 of Keokuk, was arrested on a Warrant for Failure to Appear/Contempt of Court. Young was held in jail.

A charge is merely an accusation; a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
