Alright fall lovers, this one’s for you 🎃

The Fourth of July has passed so it can only mean that cinnamon scented candles, pumpkin decor, and fall leaves have found their way back on the shelves 🫢

Don’t get me wrong, the fall season in Virginia is absolutely wonderful, but I’m a summer soul. I still need some pool days! Just don’t light the fall candles yet, please 🤣

In all seriousness, if you’re itching to experience a taste of fall, swing by Hobby Lobby for all the feels + decor 🍁🍂

Blacksburg, you’re about to add a fresh new spot + I can’t wait! 🥥🍒

Playa Bowls Blacksburg, VA is opening at📍460 Turner Street and offers a healthy + delicious menu of açaí bowls, smoothies, juices, cold brews, and more 🍓🍌

When I lived in SC, I loved grabbing Playa Bowls because it was always refreshing + great value for the size! I have SO missed having them since I moved back, so I’m elated that they are coming to the NRV 🧡

Pro-tip:
- You can customize your bowl with the base + toppings 🫐
- The nutella bowl was my go-to, topped strawberries, bananas, nutella, and coconut flakes 🥥
- The vibe is so fun with island + tropical decor to keep it feeling like summer year round ☀️
- The bowls are large in size but packed with tons of açaí and toppings, they don’t cut corners! 🍍

I think the NRV decided to pack all of summer into the month of July 🤣💦☀️ but I’m here for it! 🤘

Take a look at all the fun events + festivities that are at your door step this month ⬇️

Just to highlight a few:
- The Pulaski River Turtles have ten home games ⚾️
- FloydFest: Aurora returns with a fresh + exciting line-up of artists 🎶
- The New River Valley fair comes back into town with The Jared Stout Band performing on July 30th 🎸
- The Salem Fair is already in town through July 13th! 🎡
- There are several shows at Dr Pepper Park at the Bridges in Roanoke that are a short trip away. Enjoy the full list of July shows 👇
- Want to go cruisin’? There are plenty of cruise-ins + car shows scheduled across the NRV 🚗

Let’s get this week kicked off with all the local events celebrating Independence Day 🇺🇸🧨

I can remember awaiting the Fourth of July each summer because of the fireworks and core memories with family 🎇

Growing up in Floyd, our family had the best little spot to view the fireworks from the high school. The day was marked with a cookout, watermelon, throwing ball, catching fireflies, and sparklers 🌭🍉 I’m so glad we keep with that tradition — I love the feel of a small town summer night 💫

Good morning from a little coffee shop in📍Kansas 💫

We are here for a wedding this weekend and with all the festivities, I’m a little late on events, but here’s the rundown:

- The Pulaski River Turtles are playing all weekend and there’s no better way to spend a summer night than under the lights at Calfee Park ⚾️
- You can still catch Lavender Fest at Beliveau Farm Winery before it ends on Sunday 🪻
- Want to experience something magical? Head to Rock House Marina for a family friendly magic + comedy show 🪄
- While you’re heading towards the lake, swing by The Mason Jar at Claytor Lake for cars & coffee ☕️

An easy take-out dinner option brought to you by Golden Bowl 🥣

Located at📍1802 East Main Street in Radford, Golden Bowl serves up a large menu featuring sushi, hibachi, teriyaki bowls, lo mein, general tso’s chicken, and much more 🍱

It’s our go-to for takeout because it’s ready in 10 minutes, freshly prepared, and affordable. The portions are larger so you can either save it for leftovers or split it! We love to split the hibachi chicken, steak, and shrimp 🤤

Pro-tip: You can’t forget the yum-yum sauce so make sure you tell them how many packs you want. If you dine in-person, you get a full bottle to yourself! 🥡
