✅ The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that its regular telephone service has been restored following a temporary outage Thursday, Aug. 27.

📞 Residents may now contact the Sheriff’s Office through its normal phone lines for assistance, reports and case information.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 This FREE program is for elementary-aged children and their families. Kids can enjoy storytelling, puzzles, games and reading activities while parents and caregivers get some quiet reading time too.

📖 Families do not have to read the same book. The goal is simply to make reading fun, relaxed and part of family time.

🦌 The Bucks are busy this week with football, volleyball, soccer and tennis action, including several games happening today and an updated football schedule due to anticipated inclement weather.

🤍 Varsity Football will travel to South View Thursday, August 27 for a 7:00 PM kickoff.

🎟️ Admission to sporting events is $10, with cash and online option such as GoFan.

💼 Hoke County Schools also reminds fans that its clear bag procedure is in effect at sporting events.

🕳️🛣️ Sinkhole Filled On Rockfish Rd In Hoke County

🚧 Before, an open sinkhole could be seen along the center lines of Rockfish Road near Glenn Brooke Lane. One traffic cone had been placed over the damaged area to warn drivers.

🔄 Now, the opening has been filled with gravel and two cones have been placed around it. The area has not been paved over, and the road surface remains uneven.

UPDATE: This is a temporary fix until a permanent repair can be completed 👀 — via HCSO

⚠️ Drivers should continue slowing down and using caution in this area.

👮 Hoke County Sheriff’s Officr Books 2 People in Recent Investigation And Search at Red Springs Rd

🔎 The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office says its Narcotics/Vice Suppression Unit served a narcotics-related search warrant Aug. 21 at a home in the 4000 block of Red Springs Road in Hoke County.

🏠 According to the sheriff’s office, the warrant followed an investigation into Michael Chavis aIIegedIy seIIing iIIegaI controIIed substances. The Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team assisted with serving the warrant.

👥 Michael Chavis and Shunna Chavis, identified as siblings living at the home, were detained without incident.

🔎 During the search, detectives reported finding suspected amphetamine piIIs, ma*****na, Suboxone, assorted drvg paraphernalia, bulk U.S. currency and a .22 rifle.

📝 Investigators said the rifle was found in Shunna Chavis’ bedroom and determined she was a convicted feI0n. Both were booked into the Hoke County Detention Center.

🧑‍⚖️ Hoke County teens ages 11–17 have an opportunity to get involved with Teen Court, build leadership skills and make a positive impact right here in their community.

📝 Early Morning Sh00ting Leaves Three Men Injured In Hoke County NC

🚔 Three men were injured in an early morning sh0ting Friday after an incident along Haire Road in the Raeford area, according to the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office.

🕞 Deputies responded around 3:30 a.m. to the 300 block of Haire Road, where they found one man suffering from multiple sh0t wounds.

🏥 Two other men who were also sh0t during the incident were taken to the hospital in private vehicles. Their conditions have not been released.

👀 Investigators say the people involved knew one another and believe the sh0ting was not a random incident. The Sheriff’s Office says there is no known threat to the general public.

🔎 Authorities have not released what led up to the sh0ting or additional details about the circumstances surrounding it.

🕵️ The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate as deputies work to determine exactly what happened.
