TONIGHT: Karmelo Anthony has secured a dream team of six attorneys who will represent him pro bono in his appeal against the State of Texas.

The announcement comes Monday, just 12 days after Anthony filed his notice of appeal—one day after he was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

UPDATE: The alleged witness seen in a public photo dated May 23, 2025, on Jeff Metcalf’s public page was actually a witness for the , not the STATE, as we reported yesterday.

One of the reporters gives a detailed account of the alleged witness tampering she saw Jeff doing to the witness seen in the photos posted on his Facebook.

UPDATE: An alleged who testified for the defense in the Karmelo Anthony trial is seen in a photo taken on May 23, 2025, and publicly posted on Jeff Metcalf’s page.

One reporter said the witness is the same person they saw Jeff nodding to while the witness was testifying on the stand.

video analyst Mark Porter who magnified and spotlighted video released Friday, testified before the jury in the Karmelo Anthony trial during cross-examination that he did not place a spotlight underneath the tent because he did not believe he could maintain accuracy.

Porter also testified that he was instructed to follow only Karmelo after he left the tent.

Multiple arrested after a now-viral video showed a Black teenager being brutally assaulted by a mob at a Lenoir County on May 23.

Ashton Clark, 18, was charged with Felony Assault by Strangulation and Conspiracy. Landon Harris, 19, was charged with Cyberbullying and Conspiracy. A 17-year-old and four other juveniles also face charges.

Both Ashton Clark and Landon Harris have already bonded out of jail.

Brytavious Lakeith Chambers, better known as Tay Keith, the Grammy-nominated beat-making genius behind Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” Drake’s “Nonstop,” Sexyy Red’s “Pound Town,” BlocBoy JB’s “Look Alive,” and so many more bangers, passed away.

He was found in his apartment Thursday afternoon — no foul play suspected, cause pending autopsy.
