LIVE Wednesday 3pm Eastern, 2.18.25 – In high-pressure moments, are you truly in control of your decisions, or is your brain just reacting? The truth is, when stress kicks in, most of us default to old patterns stored in the back of our brains—patterns that often lead to bad choices. That’s why Steven R. Falk, author of The Switched On CEO, is joining A New Direction to reveal how leaders can retrain their brains to think strategically—even in the heat of the moment.

We like to believe we’re rational decision-makers, but when the stakes are high, our survival instincts take over. Falk’s Switchback System is designed to help leaders recognize when they’re slipping into reactive thinking and switch back to the rational, problem-solving part of the brain. If you’re leading a business, a team, or even just your own career, mastering this skill is a game-changer.

Great leaders don’t just survive under pressure—they thrive because they know how to take control of their own minds. Falk will share how the best CEOs, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers override fear-based thinking, break free from unproductive mental loops, and make smarter choices—no matter the circumstances. If you’ve ever felt stuck or frustrated by the way you react in high-stress situations, you don’t want to miss this conversation.

LIVE Wednesday 3pm Eastern 2.5.25
Ever wondered why so many businesses collapse, even when they seem to be doing everything right? Join us on A New Direction as we dive deep into Larry Mandelberg’s eye-opening book, Businesses Don’t Fail, They Commit Su***de.

Larry Mandelberg has taken his years of experience, and his own coaching case studies to ask the burdening question... Why do businesses fail?

So often we want to blame failure on financial reasons, but are finances the problem or merely the symptom? Who is in control of the finances? Who hired them?

As Larry Mandelberg points out so often we blame the fail on the symptoms of the company, and we never get to the real problem.

No doubt we will work through the uncomfortable truths most entrepreneurs and business owners ignore. From poor decision-making and resistance to change to leadership blind spots, we’ll explore the real reasons businesses fail—not because of market forces, but because of leadership sabotage.

As the leader, you are responsible for everything! You are accountable for the decisions that you make, or don't make. You will be held accountable for the decisions your team makes, or doesn't make.

Even more, you will be held accountable for the failures, while giving your team the credit for the wins.

You are accountable for your hires. If they work out, great! If they don't...you are on the hook for them.

You will be responsible for innovation and creativity as a leader. If the business is not innovative or creative...it's on You!

This doesn't sound like it is much fun to be a leader. Well, the fact is, all that accountability can be very rewarding as you remain curious and build into the lives of your people.

In this episode of A New Direction, we are joined by former CEO of Tipperary Sales Inc., current Executive Coach and Best-selling author Martha Brown. As she gives practical guidance to leaders at any stage, from her latest book, "It's On You!"

When we talk about leadership, we will think about a number of traits. But one trait that we often ill define in leadership is vision.

Do you have vision? Are you leading with vision? What traits do you need to be a leader with vision?

You may not be thinking about it, but have you considered that truly to be a leader with vision requires ethics, discipline, confidence , charisma, humor, strategic awareness and more?

A leader with vision must be able to handle failure, disappointment , while at the same time making sure you are pitching your vision and getting every one in alignment.

Who better to learn what it takes to be a leader with vision than a Navy SEAL, who was also a BUDs trainer and later a CEO.

In this episode of A New Direction, Marty Strong joins us again, to talk about his book Be Visionary: Strategic Leadership in the Age of Optimization.

It promises to be one of the most enlightening and powerful episodes.

A New Direction Our Story

This started from imagination. I have always had the desire to help people. I didn’t want to just help them I wanted to see them flourish in their life, their career, and their business.

It always felt so limiting to try to help people in a one on one situation, I wanted to reach more people with a message of hope, encouragement, and practical applicati0n. I tossed the idea of a radio show/podcast around, but I was reluctant in doing so. Then something amazing happened.

I have been blessed to be able to have a publicist who exposed me to a large number of radio shows and TV opportunities as a result of my first book “Got Social Mediology?”. One show in particular the “Jiggy Jaguar Experience” was a fun show I enjoyed doing with James Lowe a.k.a. Jiggy Jaguar. We clicked immediately. After a while I had my own regular segment called the “Internet Doctor” segment where weekly I would talk about social media, technology and the internet and how people can be more effective with it. Then something quite unusual happened.

James “Jiggy” asked me if I would like to co-host the show with him, asking interview questions to a variety of guests. It was a tremendous experience and I really enjoyed it. However, the day that changed everything was when James gave me the opportunity to interview Melissa Francis (Cassandra Ingalls Little House on the Prairie, and current anchor for Fox Business News) about her new book. We were told by her agent and publicist she would only do 15 minutes, well she had such a good time she gave me 42 minutes! I so enjoyed the experience, and James evidently did as well that he was now bringing me along as a co-host to interview authors. I would read every book and found that this whole radio/podcasting thing was a blast. And then....
