Counter Ambush Training - Group Espada has been providing leading edge tactical and special operations training since 2003. In 2009 we started providing scholarships for Law Enforcement agencies to help those who didn't have the budgets, still get world-class training into their agencies.

At the end of last year (2015) we decided that all our training programs, for Law Enforcement, will be free going forward. Given the news out of Philadelphia today, we ask our fans to please let those you may know in Law Enforcement about our offerings. We want to provide as much training as possible across the United States and are very passionate about our mission.

The Militarization of Police: Recently, we have heard much ado about how police are becoming more and more like military units and incorporating military equipment into their patrol efforts. Many point to this being a grand conspiracy and questioning why this is needed.

Regardless of where you stand on this topic, maybe you should do a little research before you judge. Police have always turned to the military for their inspiration, training and yes their equipment. The NJ State Police is patterned after calvary soldiers. The command structure of all law enforcement agencies and overall approach is military inspired.

But what about their equipment?

Yes - that is part of their history.

When organized crime was at it's peak in the U.S. - law enforcement agencies throughout the U.S. turned to the military for help and training. Including the adoption of the Tommy Gun and vehicles.

This photo shows members of the Jersey City Police Department in front of one of their new Armored Response Vehicles. The vehicle was used to battle organized crime members who often were better armed and more brazen than what police had seen in the past. The armored vehicle law enforcement to take the fight to organized crime...the vehicle was based on a military vehicle.

The more things chance...the more they stay....
