Hip-hop pioneer Rob Base, best known for the 1988 classic anthem "It Takes Two," passed away today, at the age of 59. He died peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a private battle with cancer, just four days after celebrating his birthday.

Rob Base and Dj E-Z Rock where pioneers in the early days of the hip-hop genre with top songs like "It Takes Two" and "Planet Rock."

NLPW Television Championship Officially Vacated

As a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident last week, “The Maneater” Trixie Kato is unable to defend the NLPW Television Championship.

Therefore, effective immediately, the NLPW Television Championship has been declared vacant.

NLPW officials are currently evaluating options to determine a new champion. Further details regarding the future of the Television Championship will be announced at a later date.

A new force has risen in NLPW.

On Saturday, May 16, 2026 at NLPW Wrestling 4Hope from Victory Outreach South Sacramento, Tusk defeated Giga Herrera to capture the Futures Championship.

After a hard-fought battle, Tusk secured the biggest victory of his career, bringing Giga Herrera’s nearly year-long reign to an end.

Congratulations to the new NLPW Futures Champion: TUSK.

NLPW Issues Statement On Trixie Kato and Jayme Shark

Next Level Pro Wrestling has confirmed that “The Maneater” Trixie Kato and Jayme Shark were involved in an automobile accident on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Due to injuries sustained in the accident, both men will be out of action indefinitely while they recover.

At this time, everyone at NLPW asks fans to keep Trixie Kato and Jayme Shark in their thoughts through their recovery period.

Next Level Pro Wrestling and The Pro Wrestling Academy presents Thursday Night Throwdown

We have an all new episode of Thursday Night Throwdown this week, but due to a scheduling conflict, Season 5 Episode 24 will go directly to at the normal 7pm PST time-slot instead of airing live.

The newly formed team of “Locked and Loaded” Chris Blaze and Keyshawn Callaway step into tag team action against The Damned Devil Dogs, now under the guidance of Luster the Legend. Both teams are looking to make a major statement in the NLPW tag division, but with Luster at ringside, will Blaze and Callaway really be Locked and Loaded for what awaits them inside the WrestlePlex?

Then in a match with major implications, The Godfather of Swole Mafia; Swole teams with “Mr. Five Star” Jayme Shark to battle “America’s C.E.O.” Ray “Freedom” Kennedy and NLPW Television Champion “The Maneater” Trixie Kato of Sultan Inc. If Swole and Shark can secure the victory, Swole earns a future shot at the Television Championship. But after weeks of mind games and distractions from the champion, will Swole be focused on the opportunity in front of him, and can Jayme Shark keep Kennedy under control long enough to make it happen?

And in the main event, after tearing through the competition in recent months, “The Nightmare” Synn finally receives an opportunity at the NLPW Heavyweight Championship against “The Limit Breaker” O.C. Hayes Now over four months into his championship reign, Hayes has continued to overcome every challenge put in front of him, but Synn may prove to be his most dangerous opponent yet. Can O.C. Hayes continue his dominant run as champion, or will Synn become the nightmare that ends it all?
