Our latest animation for the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream blends a whimsical illustration style with rich historical context to tell the story of how collaboration between public and private funding ignited innovation - leading to the creation of the GPS system. Today marks a historic milestone for Virginia. In a race between two women, the Commonwealth has elected its first female governor.

This moment provides a meaningful segue into the continuation of our MCAAD series. Voices of the Dream is a large-scale media installation that brings to life influential historical figures who both shaped and were shaped by the American Dream. Their featured quotes reinforce messages of ambition, perseverance, and inspiration that still resonate with visitors today, as we continue to mark important historical events within our nation’s history.

Election Day is the perfect day to kick off our series for The Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream.

Alice Blue Studios Moving Portraits literally come to life within the MCAAD exhibit. Once home to the renowned Riggs bank, known as the “Bank of Presidents”, this site served many U.S. Presidents who kept their accounts here. As visitors approach each portrait, the Presidents magically begin speaking, sharing stories about their time in office and their experiences within these very walls. From script development and illustration, to tracking and animation, the Moving Portraits are among our favorite creations in the MCAAD space.

Alice Blue Studios is proud to be a part of the design and content creation for MCAAD, the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream. In partnership with interactive studio NeoPangea, our studio worked over the span of an entire year to concept, write, design, and execute eight exhibits within Michael Milken’s new center in Washington, D.C.

The center, located just steps from the White House, is a dynamic, interactive space that honors and stands as a testament to the American resilience, innovation and diversity that defines our country. “We have to find solutions and hope”, writes Milken. “It’s not just my story,” he said. “It’s the story of every dreamer anywhere in the world.”

Check back to our feed as we post more of the magic from this massive undertaking.

When disaster strikes, a new world emerges. It’s dark. It’s dirty. It’s disorienting. A tangle of wreckage, it’s the World of Wrong.

When agency partner Gunpowder and client Paul Davis Restoration called, Alice Blue Studios stepped into the chaos to imagine what wrong looks like, and to show how it’s made right. We designed, built, and animated a vivid story of restoration where every frame narrates the story from turmoil to transformation.

We conclude the 2025/26 Richmond Ballet Campaign with Giselle. Alice Blue Studios portrayed dancer Eri Nishihara in a fine art composition inspired by the evocative portraiture of Annie Leibovitz. Draped in ethereal light and veil, she embodies the haunting beauty and emotional depth of one of ballet’s most enduring works. Through painterly tonality and cinematic restraint, the image reflects Giselle’s timeless story of love, loss, and grace reborn.

Collaborating with Karnes Coffey Design and photographer Cade Martin for this series has been a privilege and a joy. We feel fortunate to have been included in a project that involved minds that are brilliant in so many facets of the arts. And we cannot wait to go see these works performed in person!

Performed at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Richmond Ballet’s Moving Art Four unites acclaimed choreographers, composers, and ballets in a stunning celebration of creativity. The Greco-Roman marble recreation of dancer Alejandro Mariño Hechavarria stands suspended mid-leap within a fully realized 3D rendering of the VMFA’s grand atrium. In collaboration with Karnes Coffey Design and photographer Cade Martin, the piece bridges ancient form and modern motion, capturing the timeless grace of ballet within a museum of living art.

Alice Blue Studios celebrates the Richmond Ballet’s Moving Art Three: New Works with a bold tribute to 1960s Pop Art. Inspired by Andy Warhol’s iconic screenprints, we transformed dancer Annika Kuo through vibrant color, repetition, and rhythm, turning movement into modern art. In collaboration with Karnes Coffey Design and photographer Cade Martin, this piece captures the exuberance and creative spirit that define New Works.

Alice Blue Studios continues the 2025/26 Richmond Ballet Campaign with Passion & Power: Moving Art One. In collaboration with Karnes Coffey Design and photographer Cade Martin, we reimagined company dancer Khaiyom Khojaev as an Art Nouveau gilt bronze lamp; a living sculpture capturing movement, light, and emotion in perfect harmony. By completely remodeling the dancer in 3D, our team brought to life the golden fluidity and expressive energy that define this remarkable performance.
