2024: The Bitter, Sweet Year
2024 was one great year, where some of my long term prayers were answered and some of my dreams saw the daylight.
I was genuinely thankful and grateful to God for such a fulfilling and rewarding year that gave a glimpse of hope for a better future.
Then, death struck, on the 28th of December, the heavens came to the earth to collect an angel, they could wait no further, they came to take a saint home.
Meimi, as I fondly call her breathed her last, and finally got her WELL-DESERVED REST after she had toiled and moiled.
To say this was a rude shock is to say it mildly, it is hard to believe, process, or accept...
As the sunrises daily, the reality of your demise hits harder...
Although, this is a hard pill to swallow, but we will not mourn like those who do not have hope, we will trust in his WILL and his WAY.
Iyami tooto, abiyamo to’sowon (my beloved mother, a rare mother)... You are leaving a big shoe for me which I may never fit into, I will not even try too hard, because your kind is rare.
You were a Phenomenal Mother
A Quintessential Wife
A God Addict
A Prayer Warrior
A Born Teacher
A Disciplinarian par Excellence
A Loyalist to the Core
A Peaceful Soul
A Gospel Evangelist
A Loving Mother and Grand mother
The Most Contented Human I Know
It was a great privilege to have been mothered by you, we are blessed, and eternally grateful for the gift of you to our world.
I cannot begin to say how much I will miss you because I will never stop missing you anyway...
We take solace in the word of God that says:
"13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him". (1Thess. 4:13-14)
May your soul continually rest in the bosom of your maker.
