Went out to Chippokes today for a brief hunt. A decent number of people were looking for shark teeth, so it was a bit slower of a day. But I still managed to find some good ones! 🦈🦷

Y'all, this is the largest tooth I've found so far. Is it a meg? Nope! But after only 6 or so months of shark tooth hunting specifically in Virginia, I'm stoked! 😍 My eyes are so trained to spot the tiny teeth, I think I usually miss the big ones.

Did you know you can find things like dolphin ear bones here in Virginia?

I recently found this periotic along the York River, and thanks to my latest favorite book, I knew what it was immediately!

According to Fossils ABG, this dense bone fossilizes exceptionally well. I highly recommend grabbing this book if you want to learn more about what you can find while beachcombing 🙌
