Got my daughter down for the night and figured I’d clean up the kitchen after baking all day… I’m still covered in flour like I’ve been churning butter since 1802.

I start clearing the counters and catch a STRONG onion smell. Not subtle. Not polite. Just… aggressive.
So I check the onion jar and one of them has sprouted like it’s got plans. Immediately I take off to the front porch, “BABE—this is it. This is how it starts. We’re about to be homesteaders.”

In my head I’m already collecting eggs, growing a full garden, thriving off the land… meanwhile I’m standing in the suburbs in fuzzy slippers holding one rebellious onion.

Googled it and turns out we’re not exactly starting a farm overnight… but still. Don’t talk to me unless you respect my journey.

The past few days, I’ve had the strangest thing happening… birds keep flying straight into my windows. 😳

At first, I had no idea what the noise was. I thought something was falling or hitting the house. Then I was standing in my kitchen doing dishes and actually saw it happen—a bird came flying full speed and smacked right into the window. It scared me, and I felt so bad for the little thing. 🐦

But now it’s happening over and over, and it’s honestly starting to feel a little crazy. I’ve never had this happen before. Has anyone else experienced this??

Today I made dandelion honey…
Not from bees—but from the bright yellow flowers most people walk right past.

You showed up, you gave your time, your energy, your heart—sometimes more than you even had to give. And that matters. But constantly pouring into everyone else while leaving yourself empty isn’t strength, it’s exhaustion in disguise.
Now it’s your turn.

It’s okay to step back. It’s okay to say no without explaining yourself. It’s okay to choose rest over proving something, peace over chaos, and yourself over expectations. You don’t need permission to take care of your own needs.
