Vikings Dominate in 43-0 Shutout Over West Bolivar

ECRU – The North Pontotoc Vikings left no doubt on Friday night, delivering a statement win with a dominant 43-0 shutout over West Bolivar. From the opening whistle, the Vikings imposed their will on both sides of the ball, with a relentless defense and an explosive offense leading the way.

At the heart of North Pontotoc’s defense was senior strong safety Levi Gooch ( #10), who turned in a standout performance. Gooch led the team with 11 total tackles, anchoring a defense that swarmed to the ball and never allowed West Bolivar to find any rhythm. The Vikings defense was aggressive from start to finish, forcing multiple three-and-outs and consistently collapsing the pocket.

On offense, the Vikings were equally commanding. Senior quarterback Drew Winfun orchestrated the attack with precision, throwing for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also rushing for a score. His leadership and poise kept the West Bolivar defense on its heels all night.

Senior running back Donovan Winfun, added a punishing ground presence, rushing for 52 yards and a touchdown. The Vikings used a balanced attack to keep the chains moving and the scoreboard ticking.

Additional touchdowns came from Dee Slaughter, Ladarius Adkins and Khylun Jones. Aden Harden got an interception and a 40-yard return for a touchdown, showcasing the depth and versatility of the Vikings' offense.

Head Coach, Andy Crotwell states “I was pleased with how we responded after losing to Corinth. We had a good week of practice and our ex*****on, with the exception of a couple hiccups, was good Friday night.”

With this shutout win, North Pontotoc improves their record and sends a strong message as they head deeper into the season. The Vikings will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup, with their defense and veteran leadership setting the standard for their game this Friday night at home against the South Pontotoc Cougars.
